When we needed nine LARGE pines removed, from a house and yard where we will be 'downsizing', I didn't bother with the tree folks I knew but checked around and called several others; wasn't very comfortable with any - (due to prior experience). The folks next door to our present house gave a very strong referral for Broadleaf for the quality of work and reasonable price. In the first five minutes on the phone with Blake, I knew we had found the right tree service! And that was reinforced in phone and personal contact. There were no 'red flags' at all. I had no problems or issues with any of his ideas and suggestions and was very pleased with the price I thought was an estimate - no, that was his contract price!
I promised (unbidden) that I would not interfere or 'supervise' but I just had to show up sometimes to watch, careful to stay out their way. Which we did in parking 'up the street' and walking down. They were led by one of the partners and it was apparent that each man knew his role and job and was by far the most efficient tree crew I've ever seen (and heard) many where there was a lot of shouting and yelling and seeming to figure it out as they went along). Not here, any shouting was communication & detail from 120' feet up to the ground. Since there was so much tree to deal with the timeframe was tad loose and it took a bit less than 3 days including cleanup. We are very grateful we...
Read moreBlake and his team of Arborist did a very professional job of evaluating the project to see what resources he would need to safely remove 6 large trees, all standing within 10 ft of our house. The job was rather large and took 2 days but his men showed up precisely on time and finished the job slightly ahead of schedule. They did an excellent job of cleaning up all of the wood and pine needle debris that happened to fall in the yard or on the roof and deck. After they left, the only evidence that they were there were the remaining stumps which I had not asked them to grind.
I prefer to use locally owned businesses for contract work in general which is why I interviewed Blake along with two others. The prices from the other two contractors that I did not choose were competitive with Blake's but I appreciated the care that he took during the estimation and evaluation process more so than the other two.
Blake and his partner spent more than a dozen years learning the tree removal trade from large national companies who provided him with excellent training and certification would she brought to his own company several years ago.
For a small contractor, I really appreciated the professionalism that he and his partner showed throughout the whole project, it was very impressive and I'm glad I chose them. I've already recommended his company to two of...
Read moreI needed three trees removed from my back yard and was in the process of getting quotes from two other contractors. Broadleaf was removing some trees for a neighbor. I watched them work and felt they were doing a great job so I asked for quote to remove the three trees in my back yard. When Blake come by later to do the estimate, we talked a bit and I also asked that he price out some additional pruning in addition to the tree removal. He clearly was knowledgeable and worked with me on the plan for access and protection of existing plantings, etc. The quote was very competitive and based upon that, the example of the work from next door, and my interaction with Blake I gave them to the go ahead to do the work instead of the others. Blake's team showed up on time and on the expected day and everything went perfectly. They took measures to be careful with the items I had called out earlier. The pruning work was also excellent and should help the health of a large tree in our front year. When cleaning up after they were done, they clearly were not just trying to get out quick but worked hard to make sure it was completely cleaned up and that we were happy. In summary, we are very happy and have no reservations on...
