Cedar Mill Farmer's Market — Attraction in Beaverton

This market is markedly small and sits in the far corner of the parking lot of the Safeway strip mall. There are only about fifteen vendors. Four of them are food. There was allergy friendly, organic tamales for about eight dollars a piece, poke bowls and sushi, tacos, and something else I can't recall. There were multiple fruit vendors, a couple of veggies, honey, whiskey, candles, dog food and treats, flowers, a vendor who sold gluten breads and treats and similar booths. This market is clearly focused on food and drinks. Most of the vendors here have a presence in other, large markets in the area...such as Beaverton, Hollywood, Vancouver, and Portland farmers markets. There was a lady there selling only peaches and nectarines. They were not marked organic but are much more flavorful than the standard fruit at these things. As such, I suspect they at least employ some sustainable practices. I wouldn't swing by again just for this market, when there really wasn't anything unique. Myself and a friend usually go to the Beaverton farmers market by the library, which has a very good selection, but decided to try a different market this time.

Pros: Fair selection given that it is only a small selection of the Safeway parking lot. Not nearly as big as the library location. Prices were pretty good. All vendors we talked to were very friendly, offered samples when available, and happily answered questions.

Cons: Live music was LOUD. We couldn't hear any of the vendors that were within 50 feet. This is not a concert. I wish it were a little bigger, but perhaps Safeway would only allow a small size. I only saw one food truck, nothing we were interested in. Not sure if this is a con or I'm expecting too much, but the library location had alcohol, this location does not. Then again, it's a farmers market, not a beer fest.

Opened for 2020. I just bought radishes, strawberries, swiss chard, basil and onions. .... Great little farmers market in the Safeway parking lot. Usually parking is not a problem and with small size I can finish shopping in fifteen minutes if I know exactly what I want. There are two large veggie and fruit stands and maybe ten smaller ones with berries, peaches, strawberries and various seasonal produce. Few stands carry eggs, one has meat and there are also some food carts, salsa, nuts, flowers and other random places. Prices are very reasonable, better than more "popular" and larger markets.
