I recently purchased a GameStop brand headset for my Nintendo Switch, only to find that it didn’t work. When I tried to return it in order to purchase an official Nintendo Switch headset, I was told that returns were not accepted and was only offered an exchange for another of their own subpar products. This policy is beyond frustrating and feels like a way to trap customers into repeatedly accepting defective items.
The experience was made worse by the store manager, who was incredibly rude and unprofessional. As a woman, I felt belittled and discriminated against during our interaction. He was condescending, dismissive, and offered no real solution to my problem. To make matters worse, when giving me the “replacement” headset, he unnecessarily tore open the box, stating, “The box you returned is open, so we give one to you in the same state.” This behavior was shocking and completely unacceptable.
The employee who assisted me was polite, but the manager’s attitude and actions were appalling. This experience has completely soured me on GameStop. Their customer service is abysmal, their return policy is unreasonable, and I would never recommend shopping here to anyone. Save yourself the frustration and...
Read moreI purchased a brand new Xbox, a couple of games, and a controller in early November from the GameStop in Martinsburg West Virginia. When I made the purchase, I told the cashier that these were going to be Christmas presents and wanted to ensure that I could make a return after Christmas if needed. He said I could. Well, I just went into return the controller because my son was given a better controller by another family member for Christmas. The cashier told me that I could not return the controller because it had been more than 15 days since purchase. He pointed out that was it was written in fine print on the receipt. The controller was brand new unopened in the box and I still had the receipt. That is the last time I will do business with GameStop. I’ll gladly go to Walmart, Target, or Best Buy. GameStop just lost a customer over a $30 controller that they...
Read moreTheir product replacement plan is a scam. They bait and switched everyone and will now give you a used product as a replacement as of this year. And not only that, they gave me a broken used item. I had a headset where the microphone was muffled. The replacement item they gave me was completely broken and untested. When I realized the replacement item was broken, they refused to give me back my old equipment or refund me. When I bought the PRP I was told I was going to get a new item as a replacement. I wouldn't have bought it otherwise and I wouldn't have even used the PRP if they were going to give me an even worse headset than the one I was replacing. There is a reason why GameStop is...
