Garrett 8 Cinemas — Attraction in Oakland

When you can actually see a movie this place is one of the more affordable theaters. However, if there is even a moderate amount of people who show up to see a movie the staff is often easily overwhelmed and takes forever to move the line. We have just left 3 or 4 times due to it being clear we wouldn't make the movie. We stayed once and missed the first 5 minutes. The real deal breaker for me was my last trip. The line was all the way to the door. I waited for almost 20 minutes and was finally near the front of the line when the manager apparently told people to just go to one of the registers effectively putting 8 people in front of me. I left, again. I did not return for a later showing as we were trying to get 2 movies in.

There was a large disorganized group trying to see a movie. If you have a ticket window use the ticket window so people can at least get tickets then proceed to the concessions. Had I bought my tickets online I would of been even more annoyed because I would of had to wait in that line to get a refund.

Hopefully they will get it together and this won't be an issue in the future. I won't ever know because I am done after the repeated issues and the manager suggested...

Sound system was broken in theatre four. You could hear dialogue but there was no music. No surround sound. Long uncomfortable silences between spoken lines. Went out to complain to manager who told me she was aware and there was nothing they could do. It has been broken for sometime and they were aware of it. She acted bothered to be questioned about the theater's problem. Asked why they were charging us same price as other 7 theaters and she said there was nothing they could do. Asked why they didn't shut down the one theatre until the sound system was fixed, she again said there was nothing they could do. When I said you mean there is nothing you will do, she did not respond. Also, candy was stale. Horrible experience and bad attitude to boot. Stay home and watch Netflix if...

Took my son ,niece, and nephew to see Batman vs superman for my sons birthday. Upon arrival everything was awsome. ..the workers there were very helpful. But much to my suprise the theatre was so hot and stuffy I had to fan myself to be able to breathe. . .then I go to refil my drink,after spending 80 dollars there ,at9 o'clock to be told they wouldn't fill it because the machine was broke down for the night.....seriously I work at a restaurant and know just how simply they could have refilled my drink. Why would you close your consession at 9 when the movie lasted well past 10....Also the girl was just RUDE about it....don't think I will be spending 80 dollars there any time in the near future. I was overall very dissatisfied with there...
