Most pushy, rude staff I’ve ever dealt with. I don’t usually like to go to hobby shops for this very reason and today I was reminded why. For instance I probably would have spent $1,000 here today but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it because the staffing was over bearing and harassed me the entire time. The staff member with long grey hair was following me and my girlfriend all around the store the entire time we were in there. I pulled my mask down for .5 seconds to readjust it and he was yelling at me to keep it over my mouth and nose at all times. He then continued to follow us at a short distance peaking around corners and “pretending” to readjust the displays on shelving just to see if we had our masks on correctly. It was spying more so. He would peak his head around and notice we were looking and jerk his body back in effort to hide lol. As soon as he was done with us he passed us off to another worker who continued to act in the same manner. The guy at the register just had all sorts of comments to add. Read morePurchased an RC airplane from them 14 months ago. Since then I needed to replace the wing to the RC airplane. Was informed the model has been discontinued and there aren't any parts. Hard to believe they didn't know they were selling me a discontinued product. I figured I was out 300 dollars for the model because I wouldn't be able to replace the part. Turns out you buy it directly from the manufacture. You'd think they'd know how to do that or at the VERY least point me in the right direction. After getting the wing, I needed to replace a servo from the old wing. Called to order the servo. Told it would take a week to ship to them. Called back 2 weeks later to find out they never ordered anything because...Same song and dance about the airplane being discontinued and the servo doesn't exists anymore. Went to the manufacture, ordered the servo. Were they just trying to make me buy another airplane? Why don't they know where/how to buy replacement parts from their manufactures? I always tried to buy from the store to keep a brick and mortar going, but I'm done...
Read moreMy husband had a run in with one of the store attendance ( Scott) at the Laurel Store 2 years ago. It's been at least a year and a half since my husband visited the Laurel store. He visited the Hobby Works in Rockville today to have his car worked on. The store in Laurel had blacked ball him. But my husband stood still while being insulted to his face by Ben. Ben was VERY rude and unprofessional. Talking about my husband car in a VERY RUDE manner. He tried to provoke my husband to argue but he didn't.my husband had never had a run in with Ben, his run in was with Scott. Scott did not want to accommodate my husband. And my husband put Scott in his place. Scott didn't like what he said,so he went to manager, the next thing we know, he was not allowed in the Laurel store which have nothing to do with the Rockville store where Ben is located.
