Read moreEDIT: canopy replied to this review asking me to contact them. their customer service in the hotel as well as on the phone and email is absolutely terrible. I had to call and email several times regarding the complaint and I got absolutely nothing. ZERO. no points no money back(i booked at another hilton property nearby as a substitute). Just we are sorry. we cannot do anything. they dont even read the emails and send templates as a reply. an absolute terrible company.
EDIT: have been to 2 different suites here. presidential suite had a broken sofa bed, and there was a lot of trash under the sofa bed. other was a king corner suite. again trash under sofa bed! tv console had a broken door which just dropped and almost hit someone one the foot.
Terrible experience here. When I was about to check-in at 2pm on the Hilton Honors app on the day, I noticed that the room that was being given to us was not the presidential suite (the room I booked). It was room 801, a king suite, which is about half the size of the presidential suite.
We called the front desk and they said that the room was unavailable and the only other presidential suite was occupied by another guest.
We asked if we could talk to the manager. Donald the manager told us that our room had been trashed by a previous guest and was unavailable.
We said that we had a guest from out of the country and the king suite they were giving us would not fit the visitors who would be dropping by to see him.
We asked Donald if there was another presidential suite. He said there was none. We asked if there were adjoining suites that could be connected and he said there were none. He could only give us suite 801 and another suite that was not adjacent to 801. It would cost us $408 to get suite 801 (no discount) plus whatever room we wanted.
We have been to the Canopy Bethesda several times so we know how big the rooms are. We have stayed in the presidential suite before so we already knew how many visitors it could fit and what the layout is, we knew that room 801 would not work for us.
We asked if he could call some other hotel and get us a room the same size as the presidential suite. We asked if he could check if another Canopy had a room the same size available.
He said the closest Canopy was in the DC wharf and told us they were not connected with them and that we had to call them OURSELVES to check.
Donald said he could not help us and to just call back after we had found a room so he could cancel our reservation with the Canopy Bethesda.
Donald never said sorry to us, just that he could not do anything because the room was suddenly unavailable.
The Canopy Bethesda did not inform us once they found out that the room was unavailable. We only found out once we were about to check in.
We had to look for another hotel ourselves at the last minute and had to hold all the visitors and the guest for another 1.5 hours while we searched for a hotel room big enough to...
Read moreI traveled to DMV area on business. My fiancé is a well known artist and I am her assistant . we are currently doing a paint and sip tour and this was our 4th stop. I stayed at this hotel from Thursday-Monday . Upon arriving there was a guy that checked us in. He appeared annoyed and the least concerned about us being there
So I booked 2 rooms; one for us and one for our team members . We had 5 additional people travel with us but so happened to stay at another hotel (I wish we followed them). We stayed here because of location.
When we arrived we were not notified of WiFi , amenities or any additional hotel information. What concerns me that I overheard the same guy checking in people who didn’t look like me . He asked them .. were they Hilton reward members (which I am but was never asked ) , they were told WiFi (never told ), information about local restaurants and spa , valet info and so on( had to research myself )..
As the assistant, I had a very important package shipped to the hotel . Once I received notification that the package arrived , I called to the front desk to ask if it was received and was told No , then I went to front desk to confirm , still told no . So I decided to go down to valet to see if they received it . The guy told me that he hasn’t but just seen fedex leave . So I went back to front desk and let her know and she said we haven’t received anything. At this point I’m being sent on a wild goose chase for this package. I called my fiancé/boss and she contacted front desk to address concern and miraculously the package appeared . It was delivered to the electrical area , placed under other equipment. Box was tore up.
Second room I booked had no working refrigerator, sink was messed up.
Another instance , we called down to see if there was a microwave to use and was told there was a $25 charge to bring to room and no microwave for guest. I decided to walk down the next day and a guy said what ?? No it’s $10 and of course we have a microwave for guest . So grateful for him . The inconsistencies were annoying
Overall I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you look like me . I hate to say this but I witnessed staff treat others with way more respect and acknowledgment. Our entire team did not enjoy this experience for the price we paid .
While checking out . My team waited on level 3 for 30 minutes while other members were getting ready. We were not acknowledged , asked if we needed anything but as stated witnessed several times asking other guest . M
The only pro was the valet team and the location , other than that .
I did end up speaking with a manager at checkout and he took off a day...
