It's 2022 and I am tired of getting followed around in stores (I'm black) because of other's stupid assumptions and prejudices. And in reading the other reviews I am not the only black person to experience this.
When I walked in the store around 1 PM, I entered with the intention of buying a friend a gift for her new job. Opening the door I realized that I was the only customer in the store except for two staff members - one was at the front and the other near the back stocking.
The staff member at the desk kept her eyes on me as I walked towards the notebooks. As soon as I got close the the note books, the staff member at the front, immediately walked towards the pen section and started fiddling with the pens. I noted that she had followed me to this section of the store, but tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. I walked towards the back section with the figurines, to check them out. And, when I turned around again. There she was behind me - pretending to stock.
No greeting when I walk in, but you feel the need to hover like I am going to take something? Please. Its 2022.
I, obviously, will not be going back. Not that one drop in the bucket matters to corporations - its still disappointing to be...

I like this location better than the Centerville one, as they seemed to have more stuff.
The room decor is well priced. Everything else, not so much. I found the plushie selection in stock a little odd, save the pokemon ones on the wall. The ones in the aisle were mostly little twin stars, among us, and baby shark plushies. I'm also aware plushies are more expensive now, but the $25+ range surprised me a bit. This isn't my area of expertise, though.
I do like that they have scale figures, which Centerville didn't have. I didn't check the figure pricing, unfortunately- the prices aren't labeled in the front so I assumed it was priced like Centerville (which was not worth it at all for prize figures). However, another user posted an image of a well-priced nendoroid, so maybe things are different here.
They also had a wall dedicated to kpop, a small Asian beauty shelf, a rather large headband area, and anime shirts.
The employees in the store were pretty nice, and it was an enjoyable...
Read moreIt’s a cute store! I love the stationary they have and some of the items are quite cute. My main issue is with the size of it. It’s not directly their fault but the store is very little, making it very easy for it to be cramped and stuffy. It is very annoying to be browsing and then feel rushed simply because of the small aisles and many people wanting to look around. It can make a very uncomfortable experience. Again, not directly their fault but it is not fun wanting to look at stuff you may not usually see with people breathing down your neck and worrying about stepping over other people. It does affect the shopping experience. I also feel as if some of the items were very overpriced; especially the plushies and brand items. Why is a little tote bag with a tiny logo of My Melody nearly $40?? And a tiny journal with a few stickers as well? Granted, it seemed well made but $40 for a little book with...
