2025 March 14, the Second Friday of ... Abdul is an asset as cashier helping adeptly with ease my odd request about a cola product (I rarely enjoy). which was part of a trio combo deal, with an Italian hoagie and crinkle cut chips. Carter in the deli-seafood-cake district, (larger than some pocket parks) had a sincere smile and very respectful/natural voice. A de facto store manager soon into her third decade of service playfully shares some extremely needed levity as the rest of us experience sounds, sights, smells, tastes and feelings of perhaps the final world war. Thank you, Giant, #749; well done. And the hoagie was very good.

I recently stopped by this Giant location for the first time, and while it’s an older store, it had everything I needed and more. From produce and meat to seafood, beer and wine, bakery items, flowers, and even a pharmacy—this store really had it all. The prices were comparable to other Giant stores in the area, which was great. The staff I interacted with seemed friendly and helpful. However, it did look like they were in the middle of stocking shelves during my visit, so a few areas seemed a bit disorganized. Despite that, overall, I had a positive experience and would definitely return if I was in the area again.

I very rarely post reviews but my experience here was so so so bad that I have too.

I’d like to thank Irene first though who was the cashier that I initially was in line with. She did her best in trying to assist me in a professional manner, but the cashier that is behind her, her name starts with an E - Em or El an older Hispanic lady) I can not say the same.

I got an e-gift card for Thanksgiving for $50 from my job. I do not typically shop at Giant because I have a grocery store connected to my apartment so I went out of my way to shop here to be able to use this card. I had used it for about $40 the day before and had about a $10 balance. Irene tried punching in the gift card numbers and was getting some kind of error code. The cashier behind her as Irene goes to press for help (from a manager) decides to come to her register to “help” but clearly more to escalate this issue because before I could even explain what was going on she glanced at my e-gift card and says “We don’t accept this method for payment” she says “we need the physical gift card.” I’m explaining to her there is no physical gift card because it’s an E-GIFT CARD that is electronic and this lady storms off saying “no no we can’t use it” while I’m speaking. She goes to Customer Service to “for a manager” and comes back and says the manager said they don’t take it and that I can step out of line to speak with her if I have questions. (As I’m paying for $200 worth of groceries.)

I go to customer service and the manager says “yes we do take e-gift cards” in front of this lady who decided to insert herself in this issue without knowing what was going on or trying to find real resolve.

We go back to the register and Irene and this lady try to type it again and I guess they get an error code again so she starts chuckling saying “I told you we can’t use it.” Now good customer service at that point would’ve been if the MANAGER came knowing there was an escalation to try to help take care of the issue. But instead I had to deal with a nasty cashier that didn’t know what she was talking about looking for problems.

I spent $185 dollars here and would imagine that my business would at least allot me a little bit of respect. No I did not get to use my gift card, so for all of that I could’ve just went to the grocery store that’s connected to my apartment. All of this was a major inconvenience, and not how you treat customers. $10 off is not a lot of money at all but the principle is what...

Today at approximately between 7:15 pm - 7:20 pm I experienced the absolute worst customer service from a middle aged lady working the self check out who seem to be 5’2 between the ages 35 and 50. The poor lady was beyond disrespectful and extremely rude. I was taken by surprised because this have been my neighborhood giant for 3 years and I never encountered Such a disgusting person like this in my life anywhere before. When I get her name (which I will be) I’m definitely going to update my comment but for now here’s my story.

I checked out with a few items with cash and in the process of paying for said items, the screen froze and then the self check out screen requested cashier assistance. I waited about 2 and a half minutes because she was tending to other customers concerns and issues (which is completely understandable, I get it. That wasn’t my concern.) my concern was her way of not assisting me the way she was supposed to. She came over with an obnoxious attitude and demanded I owed the amount with out even examining the issue at hand. Upon trying to explain to her that I already paid the amount, she still insisted that I didn’t. She voided my transaction and when doing so, the amount that I paid came out. (Because like I said lol I already paid the amount) - (I guess she felt embarrassed at that point because I was right) … she then smacked her lips, snatched my money out the machine grabbed my belongings and proceeded to take my items along with my money to customer service. while still at the self check out line gathering my bags and purse, I heard and seen she slapped my items on the customer counter. By that point the customer service reps were extremely confused because she didn’t give them any information as to why she brought me over there in the first place. So because I felt it was impossible to get the problem resolved in such short time I felt I had no time to explain what I had already explained to the previous employee. I left… leaving the problem unresolved. And leaving the items I paid for behind because they weren’t bagged. I feel beyond violated I feel extremely embarrassed and I feel disrespected… tomorrow I will be returning to the store to request a refund for the items that I paid for that I didn’t receive and I pray an issue doesn’t occur...

One of the better Food Giants in the area. This location has a great produce selection, the aisles "make sense", and it's a clean location. This is probably my favorite Giant to come to.

The only downside, and this is new, is that they've just implemented a feature in their quick checkout that requires items to be placed on the bagging area.

What this means is, apart from being like the rest of the Giant stores; you can't scan items and place them back in your cart or into the larger reusable bags. This substantially slows down the checkout process and an increase in customer service attendance because if you move items, there's a high chance the system will misread the weight in the bagging area and stop the scanning process until someone clears it.

This becomes an inconvenience when there's a huge line and other people are experiencing similar issues at...
