As a walk-in, i got a manicurist who could not speak English or understand me. As requested I got a plain dip, no artwork. i did not get a 'real manicure' which I requested - the receptionist who spoke English well and was very friendly I guess didn't know what I meant. [??] She nodded pleasantly and said "oh yes!" to my request. Other nail salons have soaked my nails, pushed back/shaped cuticles, and added nail oil following the job as part of the manicure, without having to request anything extra. AFTER the disappointing appointment, the receptionist tells me i should have asked for a "full manicure"...and that is EXTRA. Oh so that is the code word? And typical nail care is "extra"? The manicurist, "Lisa" on her name tag, was very nice and polite, offered me coffee, When I eagerly asked if it was Vietnamese coffee, not understanding, she looked at me blankly. [sigh, it wasn't] She did not understand my question when I asked for the bowl of water for the nail soak. She didn't touch my cuticles or provide any moisturizing or prepping for my dry and thin fragile nails. I got a nail clipping and shaping, nail roughing and the dip. That's it. She hurt me about 3 or 4 times, making me jump. Lisa did not add any extra coating to the nail tips to protect the edges. What I have now are exposed nails [the cuticles were not pushed back], see-through nail tips, chipped and tearing nails because of too thin a coat and not enough coating on the tips, I have had to cut a nail already because it shredded. On another nail, polish is cracked because being thin, the nail bent. A dip is great for me - it is tough and protects my nails for up to 6 weeks. This isn't it. This was pricey at $50 for an inexperienced and under~trained tech. Maybe $20 would have been more reasonable for a tech-in-training and a mani that lasted less than 2 weeks. And a warning. ha! Other than that, the salon mid-day was busy. The salon seemed clean and the staff was friendly, customers appeared happy. At the front was a lovely Vietnamese statue of Mary [which none of the staff I spoke with seemed to recognize or understand its importance to Saigon.] At each nail station is a cell phone holder so I could swipe thru my phone easily during the job. No conversation happenin' so that was it LOL. I don't speak Vietnamese, and she didn't speak English or French either. oh well. Other techs were conversing with the clients and seemed extremely competent. I just got the wrong tech [and I'm sure she'll improve with time and a few more YouTube videos].
Got this manicure back on 3/26 2024 - I considered for awhile whether or not to submit this unhappy review...but my ragged mistreated nails scream at me for justice...
Read moreI went into this establishment and the people at the front desk the picture with the pink nails. I asked them if they could do the design with white instead of pink on the big toes and if they could use rose gold Crystals instead of clear. The guy (I assume he was the manager) said sure but that they have to use gel polish because the normal polish won't last long for that type of design. So I said ok. So I'm sitting in the chair while the nail technician started working on my toes. I told her she can shape my big toes but not the little ones because I already shaped them to my liking. She started shaping ALL OF THEM! I STOPPED HER IMMEDIATELY AND SAID NO! NOT THOSE TOES! AND SHE STOPPED BUT THEN KEPT TRYING TO SHAPE THEM AND THE DAMAGE WAS DONE! So then she proceeded to paint them white while poking me with her fingernail! I told her she was hurting me and and literally had to move her finger to stop poking me. I'm waiting for her to do the design on my toes, and she asked to see the picture again. She then brings out rose gold paint! I said Nooo! That's not what I asked for! And I showed how the design is I graved not painted and that I asked for rose gold crystals not paint. Then the other nail technicians came over and I explained what I wanted too. Then the manager came over and said I need to use powder for that type of design not gel. And I told him that he said when I showed him the picture that I needed to use gel not regular polish. And he said that the gel was already dry and that they would have to do the powder over what was already done. I told him that what I got was not what I asked for and that I'm not happy. So he then said that they'll just put a clear coat on and not to worry about paying that it was on him. So i go to the front desk after my coat was dry and asked if there was anything else I needed to do before leaving like signing out, and he had the nerve to say I could pay a tip. REALLY??? SHE MESSED UP MY FEET AND POKED ME! YOU EXPECT ME TO GIVE HER A TIP?! PLEASE.... . I said no and he told me not to come back! No problem! I won't! I'm beyond frustrated and VERY disappointed that I didn't get what I asked for AND I my little toes are mishaped now. Beware ladies...
Read moreI took my teen daughter for her bday and we both got manicures and pedicure. The staff was pleasant, and we got gel tips and regular toe gel. We spent 250 for us both which was a fair amount. What was not fair was the bad job they did. The pedicure my daughter chipped and peeled that night (yes we sat and dried it since we got tips) My nails also chipped which is odd for gel down to the white fake nail. Her nails look really badly done, the tip it so far from the nail bed it looks horrible, and a nail came off on the 3rd day! The gel also chipped which is so strange, I can only assume they did not use gel or do not know how to cure it. I notified the manager. I think followed up with another call and I asked for a refund or redo. He did not really want to do either one because he did not like I said his staff did a horrible job which they did! He blamed us for the wrong shoes, chipping nails and starching the up! I was shocked how he spoke to me. We went back to get just her 1 nail glued back, I did not have the pedicure redone and had mine fixed elsewhere. He did not set that up for us. Of course, things happen but how a owner reacts shows the character of the business. Taking the money for a service comes with a responsibility to the costumer. if your staff failed to do what they promised you must fix it all or refund. He is a very rude man and deserves for people to know if a mistake is made it will not be fixed and you will be made to feel horrible. I guess we just got unlucky with who we got but it should have been handled differently. Shame on him as this was a bday celebration present. I strongly recommend you avoid this salon as there are so many others. I have warned everyone I know and hope to save you from a...
