Newtowne Players Inc — Attraction in Lexington Park

The Newtowne Players never fail to deliver a performance that's entertaining. The 9 To 5 cast is full of fun & energy. I can appreciate a good comedic performance and we definitely saw quite a few in this show. Set changes were quick and so fun to watch. Costumes took me right back to 1980. And kudos to the live orchestra for setting such an enjoyable mood. As the cast moved from audience to stage, the lighting & sound crew tackled a definite challenge with precision. Three Notch Theater's new air-conditioning system kept our happy little crowd very comfortable. The Sound of Music production was fantastic!! The background/set, the lighting, the orchestra, the costumes....everything was impressive. The casting was "spot on". It was evident that ALL characters enjoyed their roles. The seven Von Trapp children were absolutely amazing. Both Maria & Captain's voices were exquisite. The movie was a childhood favorite of mine, so seeing it live, on stage was quite fulfilling. Eleven of us attended, sitting front and center, singing along, laughing, & enjoying the action. We saw These Shining Lives at the recommendation of a friend and it was well acted, the set spot on, and the play delivered all the expectations from the recommendation and more!! We then attended Into The Woods with friends and was blown away by the talent and professionalism of the actors/singers, the set, and the orchestra.
