This is easily the worst experience I've ever had playing paintball since I began playing in 2012.
I have visited this place before some odd five years ago and had great fun with my only complaint being the price of paint, which is one topic of this review.
However, in a severe fit of irony, a ref commented that a lot had changed since I was last there.
He wasn't entirely wrong.
First I want to say that the staff can be friendly, but that only goes so far, as they have proven that they are unprofessional as they yelled profane words with children present. The ref for our last game gave the vibe that he didn't feel like being a ref, so we practically split ourselves up.
That went as well as you think it did.
We ended up with uneven teams, and before the ref could even call game start, my friend ended up getting shot in the face. We called for balanced teams. We got one new player and went against a team that was stacked with a cheater that we were forced to play with the entire day.
Northeast Adventure Paintball has made it very apparent that if you become best buddies with the refs, or perhaps you become a ref at the field, you're free to do whatever you want outside of physical contact. This cheater had wiped the paint off his bare shirt multiple times yet had the gall to passively accuse me of cheating and was taken aback when he realized that a solid 200 pound man in well padded clothing was able to deflect most paintballs that were shot at him; paintballs, may I add, that were of the worst quality.
For a price of $80, you can nab yourself a box of some of the worst paint I have ever shot. They came with dimples, and to compound the situation earlier with me being accused of cheating, they had very hard shells. You do the math.
Most fields charge you no more than $60 for decent paint. Charging $80 for some of the worst paint you can buy is simply highway robbery.
Downtime between games was simply too long especially since this field doesn't make teams switch sides after a round of play.
Safety seems to be a lesser concern with this facility. One crucial part of paintball is chronos, which is a test to see how fast your marker shoots, typically no faster than 280 feet per second.
This field completely lacks a chronos tool.
Players are free to chronos as high as they want and possibly cause harm to others. This clearly isn't a concern with the refs as no one, for the entire day, was testing personal owned equipment to see if they were shooting too fast. They are concerned with barrel plugs and masks, which are important to safety, but chronos is just as important, as a gun that has a high chronos can possibly crack a cheaply made mask or cause physical harm if shot from a close distance.
Finally, I had some friends who were new to paintball become discouraged to ever play again after today. In addition, they were charged $45 plus tax to rent equipment. Northeast Paintball's site as of 4.14.18 says they charge $24.99. They also have misleading hours. Their website says they close at 5PM, but signs at the field say they close at 6PM. The discrepancy with hours of operation really wouldn't be a bad thing if the experience was great, but seeing as how misinformation is everywhere, it simply adds to the list of issues this facility has.
Please, if you feel like you want to play here, find another field to enjoy...
Read moreI had the opportunity of attending this paintball facility but it was a sure disappointment. I left feeling that the staff didn't care for actual tame rules and team count. There were many times referees let things slide because it felt like they were friends with those players.
The most prominent moment I remember is when me and my group were setting up a match and we decided to to go far side.(this was after the referee wasn't initiative to even appoint teams) One of our teammates said he had to leave to get air and left so we went to set up on the far side. The teammate came back and proceeded to join the other team after we had already argued we were already down men. The other team had 9 and we had 6 and we expressed this to the ref but he ignored and still started the match. Needless to say we go wrecked because the refs didn't want to do their job.
Before, We were talking to the ref about how the teams were uneven and still proceeded to countdown. Before the countdown even started i got shot in the side of my head just walking toward an outpost. The enemy shot at me for just walking towards a post and the ref didn't even acknowledge it.
The maps were played stupidly too meaning that only one side was played per map. The refs didn't switch sides after rounds and there was at least a 15 minute break between matches. Maps are really small. It felt like the equivalent of playing Rust in modern warfare 2 for almost all the maps. So if you have a party over 10 these maps are horrendous for you.
Also, two of the people there were wiping off paint after they got hit blatantly and we called them out. Refs just let them play regardless .
Most of the staff here is trash because its just a bunch of young guys who just want to get paid. Don't expect fair play and regulations here! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who is a avid...
Read more0 stars is the honest rating for this place.
I am an avid paintballer and have gone to a lot of fields in the area. I have not been here in about 5 years and it is the last time I am ever going.
Today the refs were lazy and lackadaisical. They did not care for what they were doing and played favorites. People who go to this field and possibly work there? were treated with favoritism. The ref would see people get shot and let them still play not calling them out. They let the teams be unfair and out number one side over the other. They allowed cheating and had 0 respect for rules of the game. There was no regulation to anything (ie. chronos..) so if you like going to a paintball place where anything goes this is the place for you. This was the worst paintball experience I have ever had; I also brought new people to the sport today and they even could see the blatant cheating and lack of caring by any staff during the game, turning them off to never wanting to paintball again. There seemed to be little to no management as the staff were yelling obscenities at the top of their lungs around children(not that I have children but there is respect to be given) and not caring about any safety regulations but barrel cover.
The paint was also over priced and bad quality as it was $80 a case and had dimples nothing that should have cost $80 for a case. I had to buy 2 double A batteries and those cost $1 for each. Like really?
The website lied as well as it said walk on was $25 with rental equipment but my friends got charged $45 each. It honestly seems like this place doesn’t care about anything at all but making money.
Safe to say I will not be returning or recommending this field to anyone. Customer service is herondious especially with the price. I had enjoyed...
