You told me not to fix it, so I didn't.
I wanted to get a hot spot for my dad. He uses the internet mainly to check his bank statements and email. The employees at the store set me up with a plan that they said would give me 5 Gb of data at high speed and then unlimited throttled data after the 5Gb was used. I took the device home and tested it that night to see how the throttled data speed would perform. After I went through the 5 Gb of data I received a notice saying I would be charged $15 for each additional Gb I used. This was not what I was expecting, so I returned the hot spot the next business day. When I returned it I was a little annoyed and told the employee that I don't want you to fix it, I just want my money back. The sales person processed the return and eventually gave me a paper receipt for the refund of the cost of the hardware. He showed no concern about my dissatisfaction with the product and no concern for the fact that he had given me the wrong information the day before.
I thought I was good to go with my refund, but today I received a bill for about $90 for the data overages that I had during the one day that I used this hot spot. I used about 6.25Gb total. It seems strange to be charged $90 for 1.25 Gb, but because I returned the device after 2 days, I only received credit for a prorated amount of the 5Gb. In their eyes I only had the device for 2 days, so I was only entitled to about 0.4 Gb of the data from my 5Gb plan, so it ended up being about 5.5Gb of overage. Basically Verizon refunded me the $36 from my 5Gb plan monthly fee, so that they could in turn charge me about $95 for data overages.
I called Verizon to try to get this straightened out, but had no luck. After that I called the Verizon store where I set up the plan and asked the gentlemen to see if there was anything he could do to help me out. He told me that he remembered me, that he was the one who sold me the hot spot and who took the return and that there is nothing he can do now. He explained to me that he could have corrected the bill when I returned the hot spot device, but I asked him not to fix it, so he didn't. This wasn't really what I had in mind. When I said don't fix it, I meant don't bother correcting the issue with the hot spot data plan you sold me because I don't want to be a Verizon wireless customer anymore. Just refund me my money. Apparently he thought I meant, don't fix the erroneous charges on my bill that were there due to his mistake because I want to pay Verizon $95.
Maybe it was just a misunderstanding but I think it was more like malicious compliance. Either way, I'll never go in this store again. Two employees and the manager were present when they gave me the wrong info on the plan, which ultimately wasted a good amount of time and money. The employees at this store don't have a decent understanding of the products that they are selling. There are lots of other Verizon stores out there. ...
Read moreI went into the store to upgrade a phone, while setting there, I saw streaming Internet for your TV and computer on the wall all over the building, I asked about this, the girl told me it was not unlimited, but then proceeded, asking me questions about how many people I had living in the house if There was kids or anyone streaming video games which was no extra people just myself, my cellphone and tv?she then told me this would work for my home ? Supposedly as being a professional, who knows what theyâre talking about in the line of work theyâre in. I take her word for it and sign up for Verizon Internet.. Mistake! Internet does not work in the northeast Maryland area. She told me it would and I didnât pay attention to it, Iâm not computer inter net savvy but somehow they let my service run up a $3000 Data bill!! How is physically possible for one person that doesnât even have a computer just uses their phone? And tv possibly get a bill this high in roughly 5 weeks??? And why wasnât it shut down by Verizon when the saw this happening?? As I said I donât pay attention to e mails and such a lot but this is what happened!!!! Then when going back to store trying to resolve this problem ms. Trustlow locks the door so I canât enter the store and snickers and laughs about it how I canât enter?? Then after more communication with Verizon corporate, they ask me to return to the store for a conference call with Tcâs employee about how this happened. Walked in store sat down and waited on a call from Verizon for conference and was eventually confronted by md.state police who trust low called on me and I did nothing wrong other than explain that I was told by Verizon to go there and wait on a call from them to figure out what happened??? I wish someone from Verizon in management would have returned just on of my many calls that I had into them so someone could have went back to video cameras to see how I was treated by ms. Trustlow! But know one cares or going to make anything right!!!! So goodbye to Verizon! After researching, I find out that 400 GB of data is equivalent of 50 to 60 hours of television! How could this possibly work? Now no one loyal customer for 15 years no one wants to take responsibility and do something about this bill so I am done with Verizon and moving forward To Comcast mobile! I spent 60 to 70 hours on the phone for what I was supposed to be buying Internet business Internet, how can you run a business when youâre 60 to 70 hours on the phone trying to resolve a bill that you were missed told and miscommunicated too!!! That canât get a manager or anybody with authority to return your phone call??? I got to say goodbye Verizon. Maybe youâll try calling me and getting my side of the...
Read moreI'm editing my review. Unfortunately I was 100% misrepresented by the employee in the store or maybe he wasn't up to date on the deals that were being offered. Thank God I checked my bill. I was supposed to get one free phone with a trade in, an ultra s24 for $10 a month with trade in and 2 free tablets. Nope after spending 2 hours on the phone with verizon they were able to fix the ultra for 10 a month however in order to get the 2 free tablets and free phone like I was supposed to I would have to upgrade the data plans which would cost me more money. I tried meeting in the middle with verizon and said I'll pay for the phone but I'm not paying for the tablets or visa versa but nope they can't do that so after 18 plus years I will no longer be with verizon . My biggest recommendation to this store and to Verizon in general is to not snuff customers in this way. Make sure the employees are trained on promotions correctly and represent them correctly to...
