When we first arrived we were very impressed with the grounds, the trees and space between sites.Ā Unfortunately our site D-18 did not have much afternoon shade.Ā I was told by an employee in the registration office the odd sites tend to have more shade in the afternoon that the even.Ā If we were to return we would look for an even site.
We used the laundry facilities several times and they were very clean, as were the toilets and shower by the registration office. We did not use the pool or hot tub.
After learning about the upcoming renovations in the month of August that include the removal of MANY trees to accomodate picnic tables, I do not think we will return.Ā We enjoyed seeing so many trees and the shade they did provide.Ā I was quite dismayed when walking around the property and seeing so many of the larger trees marked with a big orange X!Ā If the trees really need to be removed (which in my personal opinion is ridiculous as the tables could easily be placed between the trees on the grass or on a small concrete or decomposed granite site could be placed between the trees for the tables to be put on.) I was also told the renovations are supposed to include upgrading the Wi-Fi (which would be a great thing) and re-doing the bathrooms.
The final reason for our unlikely return is the complete lack of interest from the two interactions I had with staff in the registration office.Ā The first time was to tell the young lady we had an ant problem and wanted to know if somone could spray. The young lady, I did not get her name, seemed unconcerned but said she would place an order for Orkin to spray.Ā We had to ask a second time and were told Orkin does the entire Pechanga property and she did not know when they would take care of it.Ā (We wound up buying Raid and spraying ourselves) Supposedly Orkin did come, but we never saw them.
My second interaction was with Dawn when we were checking out today, July 23rd around 12:15PM.Ā She seemed to be completely unmotivated and really did not share any interest when I told her my concern about the removal of trees.Ā She pretty much said the decision is made and nothing is going to change. She said she could tell management but it was not going to make a difference.
Frankly I am disgusted by the intent to remove the trees and the lack of interest and personality by Dawn.Ā I chose the Pechanga RV park for our stay based on numerous good reviews on Google and other RV sites, unfortunately these two negative interactions with the registration staff and upcoming removal of trees is enough for me to make another choice the next time we are in SoCal.
The property is very nice, large and spacious, but if they do remove one tree from every site that they plan to add a picnic table to, the already intense heat is going to be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've stayed here many times, and the sites are spacious, and well taken care of. The hookups are well placed, although they can get a little too in the bushes sometimes.
My biggest complaint is that they assign sites when booking. So if somebody books a single night while you want a 2 week stay, it will show no availability even though there are sites available. We wanted to stay 3 weeks and extend our stay another week, but we had to move sites 5 times. I don't see any reason to pre-select the site. You are paying for a specific site 'type' such as Deluxe Back In or Premium Pull Through. Unless you are meeting friends, they are pretty much all the same.
Would be a lot simpler to assign sites the day of arrival allowing a person who is already in a site and wants to stay longer to stay in their spot without packing it all up.
If somebody wants a specific site, charge a lock fee. We meet friends here often and would gladly pay a lock fee for our specific sites. This last time, even though we booked a month in advance, we were 5 sites away from our friends because they had already assigned every spot.
I watched at least 4 groups of people swapping sites on a regular basis including ourselves even though there were 20+ sites available that day simply because somebody was moving into their site.
EDIT: Jul 2022 - Dropping my review to a 2. Stayed here again, same issue of being assigned a site prior to checkin. The site I got the pole was very loose and I was worried it would fall over. The water leaked. And I heard from staff that as of August, the Deluxe site for $64/night is now being 'upgraded' and they will all become premium sites going forward, for $74/night. The upgrade you may ask? A picnic table. That is it. Metal picnic tables cost ~$1000. So after 100 nights it has paid for itself, and yet you still have to pay $10/night extra for this. I don't even want a picnic table. I could barely fit my Jeep in front of my 35' RV, I don't need anymore...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stayed at the RV resort ālong termā . We stayed 3 months moving site every 29 days, with that being said I found the rows A-C are better than anything after that for noise purposes only. Row A is ideal for a quieter experience. The noise from the 24 hour minimart and employee casino parking is constant, so if you are sensitive to noise I would select Row A-C. Anything towards the center of the park. The outside edge of the park is traffic streets and busy 24 hours a day.|The bathrooms, showers and laundry rooms are always very clean, although it seems one or more dyers is always broken at either laundry facility. The cost is $3 to wash & $3 to dry.|Every staff person we have had contact with is always pleasant with a smile and wave.|The car wash at the minimart is very aggressive, broke my side mirror on my car, use with caution.|The dog park is nice, sometimes other guest donāt cleanup after their pets, I think once a week the staff clean the Astro turf and it always has poop bags.|The landscape is different from site to site some areas have been better with grass than others, they do over water the lawn areas tend to be very soggy and can be muddy and the sprinklers will get your vehicles wet and the water is very hard and will leave water spots.|They have 24 hour security which is very nice, although Iām not sure if they are to enforce the kids on their scooter, e-bikes riding after dark, I was almost taken āoutā by kids riding in the dark.|All in all this was a nice...
