I would Rate this Gym a -5 if I could. This is worst fitness gym on the PLANET!
I went here to this location 3 days ago to sign up for a gym membership. Firstly the staff was Extremely Judgmental from the START. But apparently it’s a “judgment free zone” but Any who, I start talking to the rude guy in the front about signing up. He’s letting me know details about the black card membership verse the white card. I was all in(mind you I’ve previously been a member of this gym before but it’s been years) so I start filling out my application and three people have come in and cancelled their membership while I’m here creating mine. So that’s a RED FLAG to me but I continue because I really wanted to work out and have better health for myself. As for other reviewers money wasn’t a issue for me
After I have filled out all the required information and pay a prorated price for apparently the month of November. He goes to the next step and it’s time to take my picture! I refused to have my picture taken. Personally I have PTSD and I absolutely do not like my picture taken by others. Thats also considered (invasion of privacy) I tried to explain to the guy and ask him where in the policy does it state that I have to take my picture? He started stuttering and wasn’t trying to pull it up... he kept telling me that taking my picture wasn’t up for debate and I had to do it in a very condescending tone. Then he pulled up some BS policy that did not state ANYTHING about me having to take a picture. But him speaking to me in a threatening condescending tone and again I have PTSD so things escalated quickly, we had a full blown argument about a picture being taken in front of customers. I even asked if I could use my ID to use as a picture and he wouldn’t let that work. And told me that he was going to cancel my account ! (Mind you my previous account did not and does not have a picture on it. I know for a FACT! But to continue and Because I am black and I had my beautiful black king of a husband with me(that absolutely said not a single word to any staff in the building while this was going down) he threatened to call the police after I requested for a refund. He picked up the phone and acted like he was going to call the police.
It’s a total shame on the worst planet fitness of America to treat new guests or returning guest of that nature. We pay to their $8 dollar an hour jobs.
So I called corporate and they are complete trash as well but when I called the immature overly aggressive receptionist never apparently never cancelled my account literally 5 minutes after creating it and Then I have to call the very next day to figure out why my account is not cancelled and a lady tells me (one that witnessed it) I have to come in and cancel but yet (my account is created with no picture and still in their system) help me understand!?? Then I hear the guy I dealt with in the background saying all these derogatory terms saying “that fat bi* isn’t allowed back here “ and he cancelled my account immediately.
Then I had to call the next day and speak with “RICK” the manager about a refund and he was very disappointing as well. He did not care to hear my complaint nor was he willing to give me a refund!
If you do decide to get a membership with planet fitness PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION!!! They are AWFUL...
Read moreo be disrespectful and spew racial innuendos I tried this facility in October 2023, it was a bit crowded for me so I discontinued my membership in January 2024. After coming in person twice to cancel my membership I continued to received charges. Today April 2025 I come in person again to inquire about an email I received this morning about my account. The woman at the front desk asked me to leave my name and email which I was obviously hesitant that would make it to the correct source to resolve this finally. I asked the agent to call the manager or communicate with manager she would call if she were to call out from work. About 10minutes of back and forth a young man comes to the desk, immediately takes a look at the screen and asked “what’s the problem” the woman starts speaking Spanish I asked that they speak in English to ensure she was properly explaining the issue. She reply “he doesn’t speak English” I asked well how will he fix my account if he does not speak English or understand what the issue is. So the young man pulls up a screen that says”cancel membership “ I asked if it was canceled , she said you are not the only person with this issue. Then she says it’s showing you’re “active” I said well I just saw the screen it clearly says not active for 300 days .
Then she continues on speaking Spanish and ask well why don’t you speak Spanish , and I replied with complete offense stating I don’t have to, then she begins having a conversation about my account with another guests that walks to the desk and say it’s not my fault I you only speak one language. Now first thing is it’s not relevant 2nd she doesn’t know how many languages I speak and lastly if I had said that to her I would’ve been labeled as many things. Not only do I pay for my residents to have a PF membership my company sponsors working moms membership. I will not engage any business with them further. Not only was it prejudiced unprofessional and completely inappropriate had I said the racial things about language that she said it would’ve been a disgrace. The staff definitely needs civility training, they neee to understand politics is not appropriate at work to a customer and it’s pure disgusting to play victim after being nasty. After getting a manager on the phone the woman continues to be condescending about writing down my name as she asked me . Like I explained to her I wanted to ensure this was escalated obviously I followed the correct protocol in the beginning and it was unsuccessful. Read moreThis is a terrible Planet Fitness. Everything is on top of each other. There is barely any room to stretch. The only place I found to stretch before working out was a corner with a sign on the wall saying "Hydration Station," which was ironic because I had trouble finding a water fountain. It was on the other side of the gym. I also could not figure out where any mats were located, when I found them, by the cardio equipment (which doesn't make a lot of sense), they appeared so old and worn out, I opted not to use them. Another glaring discrepancy, their cleanliness. I walked into the Women's Locker room to lock up my gym bag and use the restrooms, when I walked past the sinks, the body odor nearly floored me. I could barely breathe, which meant I would not be using their showers, which are also in need of an update. After doing some stretches, I noticed they lacked paper towel and cleaning bottles, so I guessed that PF's policy of cleaning equipment after each use wasn't encouraged here. I hopped onto an treadmill, though I prefer the elliptical, but while having probably over a dozen treadmills, they had maybe 4 ellipticals which were all in use. As I ran, I noticed one older gentleman employee walking around with a dirty rag and cleaning bottle, cleaning the tops of the treadmills, as in the area in front of the actual treadmill, as in the part that is never really touched. For 15 minutes, he walked around sprayed the soiled rag and rubbed it on the untouched part of the treadmills. I kept thinking, if this is your idea of cleanliness, I don't think you understand the definition of the word. I have been to other PFs before, and have seen various members of their staff walking around with backpack vacuums, dusters, and CLEAN rags to wipe down machines. The final issue came after my workout and as a black card member, I asked to use the Hydro-massage bed. The employee at the desk turned it on, but the monitor to increase the pressure and speed wasn't working. I asked if she could fix it and she was lost, she had no idea what to do. I felt bad for her since she obviously wasn't trained to fix it, but I did mention the smell in the ladies room and even walked her into the locker room. She told me she would mention it to the management, but I doubt anything will be done. It sucks because this is the closest PF to me, I'm driving out to Fairfax now to use their...
