Hai Duong Restaurant Eden Center — Restaurant in Falls Church

I am in my mid-40s and I have been going to Eden Center since I was 8 or so. I remember when Hai Duong opened! Back then, Eden Center was smaller; and they had built a new wing, where Hai Duong is located. All the new businesses back then wanted to be in this new wing. Here's some Eden Center history: Besfren Beauty and the Hoa Thinh Don pharmacy outside Hai Duong used to be one unit, and it was a grocery store, now long gone. Also, Firepan, Mi Lacay, Thanh Son Tofu, and New Star Showroom were all one unit, and was a bustling pho place called Pho Hoa. And can you imagine, parking in Eden Center was just as bad back then as it is now!

It's a testament that this restaurant has been open for over two decades! Hai Duong is one of our go-to spots in Eden Center for the following reasons: we can always get a seat, they handle large groups well, they stay open a decent hour, and they accept Visa! Eden Center businesses that accept credit cards will always get my business, and if they have great food, they will continue to get my business.

Hai Duong are known for their pho, but be sure to try out these dishes: bo luc lac (shaking beef), banh xeo (sizzling savory crepe), any of their clay pot rice dishes, and their crispy egg noodle dishes. In addition to providing friendly service, the restaurant has also evolved with the times to include an updated POS, taking order via tablet, and a refreshed website. I like that the ownership took the time to make updates while maintaining the quality of the food. Here's hoping Hai Duong will continue to be open for...

Very disappointed and horrible dinning experience here!

Because of the all the GOOD REVIEWS , our family and friends decided to take our lunch here. 4 of us came in 1st and told the male employee that we are total of 10. He told us to sat on middle sections with a long tables. While our friends were looking for their parking spot, suddenly I noticed our table had another party of 4 just sat down. I immediately noticed the same male employee, he denied we did not tell him we are 10 people, he told the other party “ You sit!” And looked at us “ You guys need to move.” But we were still move to another table at the back even though we were shocked, because we don’t want to argue with him.

The same male employee, he was totally not welcome us, very rude and arrogant. Our friend asked for a small bowl for her kids, he rolled his eyes and turned around. When we almost finish, her husband asked to order an ice coffee to go, he told the husband you should go to the cashier, order then pay the bill. Then he looked at me, if you finish, you go to pay and wait outside.

I understood the restaurant was busy, maybe you were not in the mood, if you talk to us politely instead of rushing tons with that attitude, will it be better? Don’t have to treated your customers like this, just because we are not local?! We are tourists?!

We are so regret to had our lunch here experienced this kind of bad customer service, this employee is not capable to handle his job and...

HORRIBLE service ruined the lunch experience! Would have rated - 5 (MINUS 5 STAR) if I could! DO NOT DINE HERE! There were 3 servers at our table when my family came in for lunch on Sunday 5th. The first one to take our order showed no respect or care whatsoever when I asked him the difference between Bun Cha Ha Noi and Grilled Pork Rice Noodle since the dishes got the same description in the menu. The first server did not respond to my question and just walked away. When the Grilled Pork Noodle came out, served by the second server, we were surprised because the dish took less than 2 minutes to be ready(?!) And we found a white strand of hair in the cold grilled pork bowl, gosh! Since other orders were edible, and we could not address our issues with the first server, the dinning experience was terrible! Quality time with ny family made up for the dinning there at least. Unless the manager trains the first server better, he will seriously ruin all the customers' experience with his condescending attitudes. Horrible horrible horrible!
