If you're looking for a swimming pool, it's "out of order." When we arrived at 6:00 pm on 10/29/2025 there wasn't anyone to check us in, after an extended wait, I picked up their phone and dialed for assistance, no answer. Because nobody was around, I decided to check out the pool that was right around the corner from the front desk and found a sign that said "We're sorry for the inconvenience. Temporarily out of order October 28, 2025--January 31, 2026." NOT HAPPY! We had driven from Wisconsin with our 12-year-old grandson to find out that we won't have a pool. There are 3 things I always look for in a hotel, and they are good guest ratings, safe location & a pool. When the front desk person finally got to the desk, I inquired about this and he said "sorry, but it's out of order." I asked what was wrong with it (it looked perfectly fine) and he said that he didn't know. He told me that if I didn't prepay, I could cancel or they could give me a discount. I spoke with my husband, and we decided that we'd take the refund because all we wanted to do was unload, unpack & relax. I went back and told the clerk that we'd take the discount, and their idea of a discount was free parking ($10/day @ 5 days) & $20.00 off our first night. I was too tired to argue, and I responded with "whatever" in an unpleasant tone. I never would've chosen this hotel had I know we wouldn't have a pool. PERIOD!
The room? small for 4 people, but oh well. The bathroom and closed share a sliding door, and there's no lock. The bathroom has a vent in the ceiling, but nothing to turn it on with. If you own slippers, bring them, as the carpet could use a good cleaning.
Pros: The breakfast was hot, and decent (the waffles were EXCELLENT)! They keep the lobby, dining area and hallways nice & neat. Beds are comfortable. The area definitely felt safe, and it's within close proximity to almost everything you could imagine. I believe the Metro was 1 mile from there.
In conclusion, our overall experience wasn't about the hotel, but about the memories made with our grandson, and our youngest who is stationed nearby, but we wouldn't choose this place again, pool or not.
LAST MINUTE ADD-IN: I just realized that we weren't given our discount. I wasn't able to view our invoice on my phone (all the words were one on top of another) and decided that maybe I should look it over while I'm on my laptop, and I'm so glad I did. My total stay amount when I booked was $944.50. The amount charged to our card...
Read moreI booked this hotel because it was close to the medical office where my son was having a procedure the next day. The rates were exceptionally high, there must’ve been something going on in town, but I bit the bullet and did it anyway. On the day of my arrival, my son was to begin his preparation for his procedure, meaning he would have to have access to a restroom. I called the hotel and spoke with Joana. I gave her my son’s name and told her that he would be arriving before I did. The room was booked with my credit card, and was nonrefundable. She said it would be no problem. When my son arrived, he was asked for a credit card. He doesn’t have a credit card. He called me, I was on the plane and was able to speak with Joana. She informed me that it was policy/fraud prevention to not allow him into the room without paying, even though my credit card was on file and the reservation was nonrefundable and the cell phone I was speaking from matched the phone number on file.. I texted a photo of my credit card that I would use to pay, a picture of my license, everything that I could possibly do to get him into that room faster. She would not budge. She informed me that the only way I could get him into the room would be to fill out a form granting him permission. She emailed me the form, but it was not in a format that I could use from a cell phone. I emailed her the photo of my drivers license and credit card. She could not have been less pleasant or accommodating. Finally, she relented, and I arrived five minutes later. My son tried for an hour, and was very upset, and not feeling well.
The room was very comfortable, the beds were great, the breakfast was very good, in the in-room snacks were appreciated. Had it not been for our frustrating experience with Joana, I would’ve given...
Read moreWe were going to DC for the first time for a concert and wanted to make a weekend of it and decided to stay in falls church since it's a short drive into DC. We had plans to stay elsewhere but when we got there Thursday night the place was unsuitable yo be staying at and we ended up sleeping in the car. We got up Friday morning and I booked a room online and then called to see if it was ready since the online didn't have a check in time. Vandy answered and said it wasn't ready but she would call the cleaning crew to see if they could get to it next. We were only 5 minutes down the street so we went ahead and went to the hotel. When we got there vandy said she was waiting for cleaning crew to call her back so we hung out in the lobby for about an hour. My husband went back up and asked about it again and she said she would call again. A few minutes later Vandy came up and let us know check out was at 12 and the room hadn't been checked out yet but that she had a suite available and would let us stay there instead! She worked her magic and we were in our room in no time! The room was amazing and very clean and much appreciated after a long night in the car. Breakfast is complimentary and was decent, they could use a bit more of a selection but they had waffles, sausage, eggs, muffins, cereal etc. The only thing that happened was while we were there it stormed both nights and the lights went out briefly and when that happened the elevators stopped working. They had them up and running by midday the next day both times but it was rough taking the stairs since we were on the 7th floor and had already been walking around DC all day. Another thing I will add is parking is 10.00 a night but that didn't bother us. All in all a very pleasant...
