Really upset, we have stayed in a few of the cabins over the last six years and have had a few hiccups that I feel were handled with care but this hiccup was not handled with care, my husband booked a stay and it was buy two nights get the third night free so my husband booked the two nights thinking the third would just be free since it's that time of year (I am usually the one who books the stays)... but we had just put our 15 month old down for a nap when we got a knock at the cabin door asking us why we had not left yet and my husband was confused because he thought we had one more night, he called Tammi the manager and she was extremely rude and said you might of thought you booked for three nights but you did not and you need to pack up and leave now, my husband said I thought it was buy two nights get the third free and she said it is but you did not tell me you wanted the free night, so someone else is coming to stay and you need to leave! It's very unprofessional to not check in with people booking with you saying hey?? Just want to know if you actually wanted the free night or if you are passing on that!! It takes two seconds! But my husband understanding that he may not have understood that you need to ask for the free night said okay it's going to take us a little bit to pack up we have a baby!!! She said okay, my husband texted and asked her a question about the third night free thing so maybe we dont make that mistake again.... We started packing as fast as we could but we had a ton of dishes from breakfast that needed washed, a ton of baby toys everywhere and dog toys, and a crib to pack up that our baby was sleeping in!! And she texted my husband again saying you need to hurry up and leave we have people coming to stay in that cabin! She never responded to my husband's question and instead chose to be extremely rude when we were trying our best to hurry as fast as we could to pack up with a baby and a dog and all of our things. I don't think we will be booking with them again after being treated this way and saying we don't know you want the free night if you don't tell us! When you can't check in until after 4pm, checkout is 11am and you are paying over 600 dollars, and driving two hours just to get there! Who would not want the free night! Makes no sense that they are not willing to confirm with people weather they want the free night they think they are getting or if they only want the two days!!
Update* Due to us writing this review and expressing being upset about the unfortunate misunderstanding; my husband wanted to try book again ( he knows now how the booking works ) and he received an email back that we are no longer allowed to book stays with them!!!! Our business is no longer welcome! This is unfortunate because we love the cabins themselves, it is a beautiful and peaceful place to go! We just didn't like how the situation...
Read moreThe cottage was tucked back in some trees off a dirt road, which didn’t yield many open sky views, but was a lovely comfort through and through. The wood of the cabin was beautiful, especially the way it’s built out inside. I’m a big fan of wood used in any finished carpentry aesthetic, and there’s nothing quite like it, and would cover every surface in my home in live edge wood with brilliant grains and a smooth finish if I could afford it. The Huckleberry Cottage offered a remodeled kitchen, open dining space, living room with wood burner, another living room with couches and a television, steps that go upstairs to two bedrooms, and a deck with hot tub.
Huckleberry Cottage also offers WIFI, Roku, full bath, campfire area, BBQ grill and with wood provided. The cabin was cozy indeed, and was a great place to catch some respite after a week of long drives and hikes. I made a meal in the kitchen, washed some clothes in the washer, and relaxed with the TV on for the first time in a week. Afterwards, I relaxed in the hot tub and listened to an audiobook while letting my sore muscles soak. I slept well upstairs in the loft and greeted the next day with the sun rising early before 4AM, and after a quick shower, bite to eat, and a pack up, I was back on the road to see more of the Northern Cascades. Overall, I found Huckleberry Cottage to be a wonderful landing spot to explore Mt Rainier, and would happily go back and stay...
Read moreWe had a wonderful stay here for our honeymoon during the covid-19 chaos. The customer service of Rainier cottages is wonderful! When booking through them there were some unfortunate mistakes that happened but we were very pleased with how concerned Tammi was with making sure we were well taken care of. These cabins are in a beautiful small little community and there's a park with a swimmable lake as well as another little pond and recreational area. We went on daily walks around the community and saw lots of deer and wildlife everyday. It was fantastic. Cabins seemed very clean and well kept and beautifully decorated. Made it feel like your own home. We look forward to booking another stay in the future! Wi-Fi worked great and we did get phone service out there in most areas (verizon). Would highly recommend for a family vacation in summer or a sweet little couple getaway. The little grocery mart in Ashford just 10 mins down the road has a decent enough supply of food but if you have any dietary issues (lactose free, gluten free, etc) then I suggest bringing options for that. (Our getaway consisted of staying in 2...
