My elderly mother and aunt were shopping and my aunt while shopping in this establishment had to go to the restroom. She asked the owner and she was told that they do not have a public restroom. She stated since COVID we closed our restrooms. That statement is not true....another aunt visited the store and too asked to use the restroom before COVID, she too was told no restroom is available. She was told that by law they are not required to offer a public restroom. Not sure of the law, (I will definitely research that) but as paying customers you should have a restroom available for the customers. The owner proceeded to scold my mom about the reasons they do not have a public restroom is because they have spent a lot of money for bathroom repairs. "When people start treating the bathroom right we will think about opening back up!!!" Another customer approached my mother and said they did that to me too. She said she had her granddaughter with her and they refused to allow her to go. The owner had the nerve to approach them and tell my mother at the top of her lungs, "All the time you are spending talking, and complaining to my customers you could have gone to McDonalds or walk across the 6 lane highway to the gas station and back , and I could have held your items!!!" My mother told her that it was my elderly aunt that needed to go, not her!!! This conversation went on and they proceeded to say when they were on Walton way they did not have a public restroom, 1/2 true, they did in fact have a restroom for the customers...., however it was not available for walk-ins (which is understandable) We will NEVER frequent this establishment again!! I advise the owners to reevaluate their store policies. Many elderly, pregnant, and children visit their store and the owner has the worse attitude I have EVER experienced!!!! I did blast them out on FB and IG but they blocked me because they know I am right!!!!
Since their response is so nonchalant why was I BLOCKED from their FB and IG for letting them know how my family was...
Read moreI will have to say that in the past I’ve experienced an unfriendly atmosphere. This past visit I was greeted as I walked in. Businesses have to understand that they are and will only stay in business if they are kind to their customers. I’ve worked in customer service all of my life. You have to make your customers feel welcome. Greet them and even make subtle conversation to show you appreciate them stopping in. Word of mouth gets around. I work as a customer representative and my customers tell me that they would pay at what seems to be slightly higher cost with our store because they feel appreciated and almost like family. It all depends on how much you value your customers and the fact that you are there only because of them. You may have customers who come in and want to ask for lower prices, but in reality that is the business you are in. In other reviews I read that you are selling things based on what the seller is asking for, but of course you get your portion as well, so with that said; your customers are coming in your store rather than Goodwill because they are trying to find that deal. Don’t show negative reactions to customers who are looking for that deal. If your sellers are asking too much then you may want to refuse their merchandise. Sellers bring in their items because they do not want to give good things away; but they also don’t want to take times to sell or have yard sales. They are using your space and time. Sellers should understand and negotiate. Drop prices if they do not sale. All in all, customer service is key. KINDNESS IS KEY! Try being friendly and kind. Have a store meeting and enforce that policy and I guarantee you will be...
Read moreCustomer service is severely lacking! Older female worker having a personal conversation at the front of the store and can’t be bothered to glance at me and even bother to say ‘hello’ or ‘may I help you?’. I had to find someone to help me get an item off the wall because they were having personal conversations. The store had a smell to it, typical of one you would smell in Goodwill (musty). Prices are high on furniture items. I bought several decor items that I felt were nice and worth the price. I didn’t even check the clothing items because I don’t buy used clothing, so I can’t comment on that.
Update: I went back the next day to be fair and see if customer service was better. It was even worse An employee got nasty with me over a question my husband and I had over an item. ! I can not recommend this store to anyone just solely based on how they treat customers. I also find it ridiculous that they take 50 percent commission from what vendors make on their items. A used leather couch in there is $1,300! No...
