Very disappointing customer service experience. Very little direction given as to wait tie, where to go, options, etc. We went to reservation desk and said we wanted to go ziplining. I knew from looking at the website that there were multiple options available. The cashier just blurted out a price, gave me my ticket and told me to take the elevator upstairs. We were automatically signed up for the Vigilante - which we discovered when we got upstairs. This is a zip ride not true zip lining - 1 run, sit in a chair harness, etc. Once upstairs there was an empty desk with a sign and a clipboard saying sign in - no wait time expectations, etc. We waited for over 2 hours before we rode the Vigilante - which was fun and amazing, but over in less than a minute. Our kids wanted to do the ropes course and our son wanted to do the rock climbing wall. The reservation desk asked "do they have tennis shoes on". Our son had strapped sandals on so he couldn't go - disappointing but we understand there are rules and we didn't pack any with us. While browsing the gift shop area, I found some closed toe water shoes that I saw other kids have on. I brought them back to reception to ask if they would work for the ropes & rock climbing wall - she said flatly - yes. We were happy problem was solved but why would the reception desk had not let us know that in the beginning? We went to the ropes area and the rock climbing area and waited for the group ahead of us to be tended to -understandable. When they were gone the worker that remained didn't ask if they could help us, etc so my husband mentioned that our kids would like to do the ropes and the rock climbing wall. The worker said "oh, that person is at lunch right now, but they should be back soon". THIS IS A TOURIST ATTRACTION IN THE MIDDLE OF HIGH TOURISM SEASON - there should be workers rotating so no station is unmanned. We waited 10 minutes and then explained to our kids we were asking for a refund and weren't waiting any longer. We had already taken a huge chunk of our day that we weren't expecting "waiting" for something we didn't even want. The reservation desk reluctantly gave us our $ back and we left. This part is our fault - while our son was changing into the water shoes we bought in anticipation of him doing the ropes and rock climbing, he set his shoes down and didn't put them in our bag - we left his sandals at the park, so he was without sandals for the last day and a half of our vacation. Would not recommend - very poorly run. Spend your $ at a place that...
Read moreThe entire experience was what I was unsatisfied with. The coaster ride itself was fine from what my child said. But there was only one employee servicing the front desk, and so it took almost an hour of waiting in line for my child to be able to ride the coaster one time. I was with extended family, and we had small children having to just wait outside. My parents were also there (seniors). There was no where for them to sit while waiting. No where on the park were there any signs to help visitors know where to go or what was closed. While we were standing in line, other people who had already purchased tickets online would want to cut in front to be able to check in and do the Zipline. I don't blame them, but it made the process slower. Also, the ropes course was closed but there was no sign to let people know that. That's the whole reason I waited in line was to do the ropes course. I understand that places are under staffed, but this process was SO inefficient; surely there are some changes that can be made to help the process go more smoothly. Overall, the experience at Shepherd of the Hills Adventure Park was disappointing and...
Read moreThe ride was incredible, but communication was very lacking. I booked my reservation online and the instructions stated to arrive 30 minutes early. I arrived at 9:30 am, 45 minutes prior to my appointment time, I was weighed, and told to get on the elevator and go on up. I got to the observation deck and there was no staff. I walked the perimeter of the observation deck, and finally found a sign on an employee only door that stated that someone would call my party. 20 minutes prior to my appointment, 2 staff members came out of the door and I waved my ticket and announced my appointment time. They told me they weren’t even open yet, stood behind a counter for about a minute, then went back inside the door. Other riders arrived a few minutes later and were just as confused about what to do or where to go. My wife stayed downstairs in the lobby and was told by the desk attendant that the crew did not arrive on time to do the equipment testing. I was very disappointed by the lack of instruction other than to go on up in the elevator. I did enjoy the...
