The Cove — Attraction in Temecula

Wow! I had such a terrible time today at the resort. But the pool area really added the cherry on top. Everything was fine until I went to the bar areas. The cove grill bar food was good but the service determined I will never be coming back. My husband and I were the only ones at the bar top and area besides two girls. The bartender JUAN thought it was more important to flirt with the girls than to even acknowledge us. It wasn’t busy but I guess it was more PROFESSIONAL of him to be flirting. My husband and I waited for a good 30 minutes before amber the manager even came up to us to take our order, after Juan came back from his 10 minute break nothing again! Back to flirting with the same two girls. Drinks are empty you can hear the sound of air in the straw with ice.. trying to send a hint. The ignoring didn’t only happen to us but another lady that came over that just sat there waiting like we did. He even had the audacity to look at us BUT ignore us!! This was BEYOND unprofessional, rude, and just terrible service. I had to wave my hand and yell can I get service for Amber to come over. Ridiculous. 1 whole hour of sitting at the bar and Juan still failing to recognize us. This happened Wednesday June 19, 24 @ around 6:00 pm. I’m even more mad that the manager at the gift shop by the pool area told us we can just write a review and that’s the best we can do. WOW. We spent hundreds of dollars today just in the pool area and this is how I’m treated. This is only my second time being at the resort getting a room, but the first time at the pool area. I’m beyond disgusted, insulted, and surprised at how low the quality of customer service is. I hope things change because if I ever come back and Juan is there I will walk out and never return. I was torn between celebrating my birthday at The Cove pool or Harrah’s with my family, and looking back, Harrah’s clearly would have been the better choice. While their cocktails were mostly premixed and tasteless, the check-in process was smooth. I chose The Cove specifically because their DJ was scheduled from noon until 8 PM, promising a full day of entertainment. What I got instead was a DJ hidden away in a corner playing nothing but outdated Spice Girls and boy band hits—completely failing to deliver any real party atmosphere. I came expecting a lively pool and was seriously disappointed.

On top of that, despite reserving a daybed, when some of the men in our group went to the swim-up bar and the women followed, we were immediately cut off. This was our very first visit after a shift change, and the womens first time too, and though we may have been a bit rowdy swimming up, the bartender’s reaction was disproportionate. He called his manager, and the situation quickly escalated until we were forcibly removed from the pool. They also insisted on taking our IDs, and one security guard never even returned mine, leaving me to come back to look for it next morning. There are locker rooms and showers if you pre wet yourself before swimming in pools!
