Hard for me to write a bad review for them because the employees are always so nice and professional. I used to go there every week with my entire family, often more than once because I love the movies, but wonāt be back. Iāve seen more and more issues with loud obnoxious people causing problems in the theater during the movie and they just donāt know how to handle them. My last movie was it for me. I went to go see the Pet Cemetery remake on the middle of the week. My wife invited my daughters friends over and gave me an night out so I thought Iād see a movie. I was the only one there until a couple came in shortly after the movie started and sat 2 rows behind me. They talked nonstop, pretty much shouting back and forth to each other because they couldnāt hear each other over the movie. I thought theyād get the hint when I got up and moved a few rows up. They didnāt and even though now several rows apart I was still have trouble hearing the movie over them. I finally had it and turned around and said āI know that I am the only other person here, but Iād like to enjoy the movie too, can you please follow movie policies and not talk during the movie?ā The man told to āshut the F up and turn aroundā. The lady called me racist and that I am just jealous that nobody wanted to watch the movie with me. 1st off, Iām not racist and race has nothing to do with being quiet in a movie. Plus it was dark when they came in, I didnāt even know what ethnicity they were, and when I saw them, even my wife is darker than they are. I went to the lobby and talked to one of the employees who said they would take care of it, but they said pretty much the same to him and that they arenāt going to be quiet and arenāt leaving. The manager wouldnāt come out and was told he just told the employee to give me a free movie pass and to come back and watch it again sometime else? They should have called the authorities and why am I the one expected to leave? I know itās a pain to drive down to Destin or Fort Walton for a movie, but we will...
Read moreUpdated review: Well, it's been a while since I first reviewed this theater and a lot has changed, so I figured I should update my review... First of all, the entire place is FILTHY and run-down. The bathrooms were DISGUSTING! Most of the toilets AND SINKS were out of order and did not work, but the ones that did work hadn't been cleaned in a while. The floor was covered in used toilet paper and feminine products and the trash was overflowing. Yuck. The theater room was gross too. Rotted, yes ROTTED food was on the floor. Sooooo much food on the floors. Candy, drinks, popcorn, etc. The seats appeared to be clean at least, but the floors were grotesque. Secondly, the pricing is ridiculous considering the condition of the theater. $12.50 per adult and $10 something for my 12 year old, on a week day matinee. Wth?! Also, they charge extra for the "3D experience" but it's a scam. We watched Jurassic World: Dominion in 3D and it was totally pointless. Not one part of the movie was in 3D. NONE OF IT. I thought surely the dinosaurs would pop out sporadically for a few jump scares or something, but nope. The only thing that was sort of in 3D were the people at time and/or their surroundings like the trees in the background, etc. Nothing cool that would qualify it as a "3D experience" worthy of additional charges. I'm honestly bummed that I spent 50 bucks (we also bought 1 medium popcorn and 1 large drink) to watch that movie with my family in 3D when it would have been better in basic 2D. In addition to filthy conditions and pointless 3D viewing, the air conditioning has to be broken or something bc it was 80° inside the theater. We sweated the entire time. So, for the duration of a 2.5hr movie, we were miserably hot and stuffy. So, long story short, that was our last trip to the Marquis. I'll drive to FWB or Destin next time I want to see a movie...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām sad for this theater. I remember when it was first built, shiny and new. Sadly, on my first visit to see a big screen movie since Covid, I was very sad to see its state. Staff was very nice, helpful and polite but the building itself is in horrendous state. Disgustingly dirty. Trash all over the floor of the theater we were in (we saw Top Gun). We slipped and slided in the isles as the floor had a slimy residue all over š¤¢. Could smell mildew. I donāt believe the surround sound was working as well as it should at all as it was like watching tv at home. There were huge ladders in the hallway in a pile, wallpaper peeling off the walls, slush machines not working properly (but running š¤·š¼āāļø) soda machine that dispenses more syrup than soda, 2 out of 5 bathroom stalls (womanās) not working - family bathroom not working either. Soap dispensers duck taped⦠It was clear that this theater hadnāt been cleaned (properly) in a long time. The cosmetics wouldnāt have been such an issue if they would just properly clean the place! I hope it doesnāt close down like the others. š
Before ppl go blaming Covid for itās obvious neglect, there was a huge amount of time that could have been used to clean!(as a former retail business owner) I would have be in there scrubbing down the place myself if I knew how nasty it was. Management should be ashamed at themselves for letting it get as bad as it is! Sorry, not sorry. We will travel south for our next movie unless we find out theyāve...
