Very nice lounge with buffet, coffee station, bar, sitting area, and three bathrooms.
The buffet area has healthy options (salads, fruits, vegetables) and vegetarian options (wraps/soups). They also have food allergy warning on small signs above the buffet area for travelers to make safe decisions about the food. Drinks at the bar are NOT free and you will be charged!
To get free access as military, you must have a same day boarding pass, military ID, and leave documents (DA31). If you are on official travel, you will be charged a $30 entry fee. But as a million miler and 1k, I struggle to think of a less confident lounge by United anywhere in the world. It is tiny with very limited seating. Just walked through and noticed that there were 2 empty seats. Of course each one was between two people crowding into to them.
But the staff is friendly (a rarity these days with United) and the food is standard United fare. So if you can catch it on a day no one is traveling or get there super early, it might be worth it.
Since I obviously do not frequent RDU, I will never waste my time on those rare occasions I come...

We had first class tickets from RDU to Chicago and from Chicago to Bangkok. Chicago to Bangkok switched to one of United’s sister airlines.
