Unfortunately, I've reached 35 years of traveling for business which has taken me through most every mid-size - major airport in the US, Europe and many in Asia. No one in their right mind goes to the airport to eat and there's a reason for that. Usually, it's the price and inconvenience of arriving into the facility that stops people from partaking. In the case of BurgerFi and RDU in general, there's another reason - poor and maybe consistently the worst service I've seen. Twice I've attempted to order and receive my food from this RDU BurgerFi location. Different crew each time. The first crew left me waiting for 15 minutes and announced that they'd "forgotten my order" and it would go behind others. I had used the kiosk to order and pay. After the long wait, I didn't have another 15 minutes and left without receiving anything. Technically they owe a refund. Just last week I tried again. I wasn't going to use the kiosk this trip and stood in line to order in person. After a few minutes of trying to get someone's attention, I was told that I must order at the kiosk. When I replied that I wasn't interested in doing that and was headed elsewhere, the fellow said "Ok, go ahead". The good news is they didn't get my money this time. Also newsworthy, today it's reported that BurgerFi ,"is facing bankruptcy..a 13-year-old company, which also owns Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, said it plans to report a net loss of $18.4 million for the previous quarter, and currently has only $4.4 million on hand. The chain, which went public in 2020, has weathered a number of blows throughout the year, replacing its executive chairman and announcing it was “exploring strategic alternatives” to turn its business around last spring." Weathered blows is maybe a misstatement. Looks like they shot themselves in the foot. ...
Read moreBurger? Thats what you call this flavorless hunk of meat? No salt, no pepper. Old-tasting dried out beef chunks thrown on a sloppy, disentigrating and crumbling bun. Btw, we humans have used microwaves long enough to know the difference between fresh cooked/grilled meat and days old leftover patties dried out and rubbery from reheating. And I'm paying $40+ dollars for this trash? Meal should have came with a foot massage for that price. How is someone willing to pay $20+ for one meal, when just years ago that was the cost for 2 meals? This place throws high prices at you expecting you to believe in the quality. Well where is it? Mens bathroom was disgusting, had no soap in the dispenser and I'm trusting you to make my burgers? That the quality we're supposed to expect? I'm pretty sure NOT washing your hands is a healthcode violation. How about how my burger patty was smaller than my wifes by 1/3rd - who ordered the same exact meal I did? When putting meat and veggies on bread is too hard for your business or employees to handle - you gotta know you fell into the wrong line of work. You couldnt pay me to come back to this dump. Trash on tables in the dining area and flies landing everywhere while your staff horseplays in the kitchen. Who even knows if theres any food hygiene checks taking place on the employees by management, ABSENT AT THE WHEEL. I mean, look at your failing reviews and do something about it or shut down. I've been to good Burger-Fis before and you're disgracing the reputation. But maybe you just dont care that youre doing it either since youre filimg...
Read moreRecently ate here while waiting for a flight. The regular menu and breakfast items were being offered at the same time. It was just before 7:30 am, and I'm not really a breakfast food person, so I ordered a hot dog and fries. I was trying to figure out how to use the kiosk at first when a lady cheerfully offered to take my order at the counter. She took my order quickly, correctly, and politely. Shout out to Miss Becky at the counter. She was fantastic! The restaurant was practically empty at that hour, so I was able to land a spacious booth seat over in the corner. The tabletop wasn't filthy, but it wasn't clean either. Looked as if there were some clear sticky stains in areas. Avoided those and sat down to enjoy what I thought would be a hot meal. My hot dog only had mustard on it, and it was great. Slightly charred and juicy; no complaints there. What I could not figure out for the life of me, though, is why my fries were cold. Like...it's 7:30 in the morning. I didn't think I needed to specify "hot fries" when you practically just opened for the day. Geesh! Next time, I'll just stick to the cold cut sandwich and chips I normally opt for when traveling in airports. At least that way, there won't be any surprises or cold food that's...
