I went there specifically to purchase the one and only gift my husband asked me for, for Christmas. He had sent me the link to the Game Stop item. When I arrived at the store I waited for 15 minutes while the person in front of me talked about different games and what he wanted. When it was my turn, I asked the person at the counter, who I later learned was the manager for the item in question. I read it off and then showed him the item on my phone with the item name, item #, photo, price, and description. He wanted to confirm that I indeed wanted such an expensive item. I confirmed it was exactly what my husband asked for and I was fully prepared to pay for it. When he brought it to the counter, I asked him if it was indeed what I had pulled up on my phone, correct model, etc as I'm not familiar with it. He assured me it was not only correct, it was on sale. He talked me into the one year warranty and I was on my way. So, imagine my surprise when Christmas day, my husband opened his gift and shook his head at me. He said, this isn't even close! Now how is it that the MANAGER OF THE STORE, AFTER READING EXACTLY WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR, STILL SOLD ME THE WRONG THING?! I spent $234 on the WRONG THING based on the "EXPERT ADVICE" OF THE MANAGER. I certainly wouldn't recommend a place where the manager can't even get...
Read moreThe staff here is phenomenal; 5-stars. The single star is for Gamestop's overreach in data collection, for simply trading in games. According to this store (and possibly all) you will need to 1) have a Gamestop account 2) provide a state ID which gets scanned into their system 3) provide your birthdate 4) provide a thumb print (!)
Upon speaking with their corporate customer support, I learned that in exchange for removing this data from their systems, I have effectively been banned from ALL Gamestop locations. Not kidding. Customer support informed me that I will be ineligible to purchase anything from any location indefinitely. If anyone from corporate sees this and would like to verify this review's authenticity, I have a ticket number on-hand.
Keep in mind that It is possible to transact with banks and hospitals without providing this degree of personal...
Read moreI used to love this place. But after Wednesday, I will never do business with these people again. On their website, they claim to give top dollar for any electronic items you sell them. I walked in there with $700 worth of product. My PS4 Pro that I paid over $400 two years ago. BARELY had a scratch on it, as well as my Apple Watch that I paid $315 for that again, BARELY had a scratch on it. Now, though I was not looking to get back the amount of which I paid for either item, I did expect the fact that their website says they give 35% of the retail price back for items sold, to be true. Meaning, I should have walked out with no less than $400, putting the value of both at $200. But somehow, 35% of $400, and 35% of $315 equals $51. How? 35% of $400 is $260. And 35% of $315 is $204.75. In total that’s $464.75. So, how did $464.75 turn...
