Smithville Park — Attraction in Cornelius

Cute public park with parking on both sides: standard playground equipment plus a splash park. The splash park is wheelchair accessible, although the rest isn't. One great addition is 2 swings that have space for both an infant and an adult or older child to swing together. I also appreciate that they provide recycling bins as well as trash bins, although not everyone seemed to notice...

We went to a festival here and live nearby the town does a great job of maintaining this park and it's an asset to the community, especially for youth sports. The park features a number of sports fields as well as a playground with small water park and basketball. There is a covered area with picnic tables which is great for an impromptu picnic...
