Selena's Final Resting Place — Attraction in Corpus Christi

Selena’s resting place is very well maintained and always beautifully decorated with fresh flowers. It’s clear that people continue to love and honor her deeply. Sometimes there’s a security guard nearby, which adds a quiet sense of respect and protection.

From what I’ve heard, her grave wasn’t always gated, but people advised it for preservation—and honestly, we didn’t mind at all. It still feels peaceful and accessible. I lived in Corpus for a few years, and it meant a lot to take my dad there. He’s a longtime fan, and it was a special moment for both of us.

If you’re planning to visit, I highly recommend doing the full Selena tour—start at the museum, then head to Shoreline to see her statue. It really completes the experience and offers a touching tribute to someone who meant so much to so many.

I wasn’t much of a Selena fan back in those days but have grown to appreciate her music and what it represents to the Hispanic and Latino communities. My wife loves her music and we’ve been to Corpus Christi few times, only seeing the Selena memorial and not the final resting place so I took her so we can pay our respects. Seeing the bronze memorial of Selena is moving, she touched so many lives to have it taken so early.
