We moved in to these apartments because it had hardwood flooring, spacious living rooms and built in bookshelves. But, looks can be deceiving. Once we moved in, we noticed the A/C was very loud when it was on. It was like we had a lawn mower inside the apartment. VERY LOUD and ANNOYING. we've told management about this, but they have not fixed it.
We noticed some ants and also told management about this, but still nothing. Then, we realized that cockroaches were coming in through different holes around the apartment and getting into our pantry. We've had to throw away so much food and call for an exterminator twice in the past three weeks. The roaches are still EVERYWHERE, we see at least two to three a day in all rooms and closets. This isn't just our apartment, I've talked to at least 8 different residents from 5 different buildings who all have some type of pest problem, too.
And that's not even the worst part, when it rained, it seeped through the walls and into one of the bedrooms closets flooding it. The rain water soaked and ruined anything that was on the closet floor or in that half of the bedroom.
There was a random leak above our bathroom sink that soaked everything we had in the sink area. Toothbrushes, combs, hair products, MAC brushes ALL had to be thrown away. This has had to be "fixed" three times.
BUT IT DOESN'T STOP THERE. Our upstairs neighbors toilet had broken and flooded their entire bathroom, which then fell through our ceiling and flood ours. It didn't leak, IT FLOODED. Like a waterfall right above our toilet. Thank goodness we weren't in there at the time or else we would've been showered in toilet water. GROSS.
Also cars have been broken into continuously, the pool is almost never clean, SOME of the management are very shady. I've had a few former residents tell me that they did not get their deposit back and were charged ridiculous amounts of money. When asked, management has refused to state WHAT the resident has been charged for or WHY.
There is absolutely nothing good I can say about these apartments, except for the nice residents and convenient spot. But, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. As someone who has leased in at least 5 different apartments in Corpus, this is definitely the WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD HANDS DOWN. I WILL NEVER...
Read moreJust began renting here at the first of December. I enjoy the convenience of the location to plenty of places that are in walking distance to my apartment. The staff are very friendly, offered a move-in gift, and held a Chili Cook Off where there were winners and guests were able to come enjoy chili with their neighbours. I enjoy having the pantry space in the kitchen and the extra shelving space in the bathroom makes up for the lack of drawers. Nice walk-in closet and a small coat closet in the living room. We are renting a one-bedroom. I appreciate having two ceiling fans, one in the dining area and one in the bedroom. I'll make a new review when we move out next year if anything changes. Absolutely love this place!
I also love being able to pay rent via check, money order, or online. And the valet trash is convenient and helpful!
Why I am not giving this place 5 stars:
I really wanted hard-wood flooring in my apartment due to my dog and cat. It is a lot easier clean up for when you have pets. This is what I expected because I was told our apartment had hard-wood flooring. Come to find out later on, we have carpeting. Pretty disappointed in that and especially the fact that there is carpeting in front of the front door. Cue a dirty carpet when it rains. The hot water sucks. We can maybe get in a ten minute shower before the water becomes cold. Baths are a hit and miss with the water. Oddly, we have a huge water tank. Okay, I checked. The oven was manufactured in 2010. It is an electric coil stove, with no clock. No noise to tell you when the oven pre-heats and I have to cook everything longer than normal to get it thoroughly cooked. Only one outlet in the kitchen. Ugly counter tops that also look like they are from the early 2000s. A/C is tricky to maintain cold or warm temperatures. At least it is digital. Gate seems to be open 90% of the time. Not sure why there is a gate if it is...
Read moreI would advise any members of the military against renting here. The complex itself was nice, and the leasing agents seemed friendly enough. They never fixed an improperly installed door that was slowly disintegrating onto the carpet, but other than that I had no real complaints while living there.
The issues began when I received short notice orders to move out. My NLT date was only 28 days away when I received my orders. They claimed that this meant I had to pay for the entire following month, as they were entitled to 30 days notice. Fine, I thought, makes it easier to get a move out date anyway.
My parents met the movers as I was already at my next duty station. They asked the leasing office if there was a professional cleaner we could pay to avoid follow on fees. They suggested one and we used it, yet they still charged me a cleaning fee on the final bill.
After moving, I called them to confirm they'd be sending a final bill that included water, as the water bill had arrived at my new address. They said the bill would be in the mail. It never arrived (despite my clearly having set up forwarding properly, as my final water bill from Texas had arrived), and the next I heard of it was when a collection agency called my parents. This was as I was leaving for deployment, and it fell through the cracks and ended up on my credit report.
The leasing office had my personal cell phone number and email on file. I had personally called them to ask about the bill. They knew I intended to pay. Yet instead of making even the most minor attempt to contact me about not receiving the less than $120 I owed, they chose to set the dogs on me.
So stay...
