After walking thru a trashed store, I brought the items to the front counter and one item I really wanted did not have a price tag on it. When I told the cashier he said that was unfortunate and he couldn’t sell it to me. I asked if he could ask someone and was met with a no. Then I asked if he could hold it and I could call tomorrow and find out the cost and come and buy it. He said “We do not hold items.” I then called the manager only to be told that they could not hold them item. When I asked why “production “ put it on the floor with without a price tag he said they fall off and some ppl take them off and they have checks and balances. So, did he think I removed the tag????He then refused to give me a timeline so I could go back and purchase said item, refused to hold the item, (even though they were holding it(bc of the no price tag issue)and it was still at the front counter) no one could buy it at the moment. Said it could be back on the floor tomorrow or it could take a few days. I live an hour away. I asked if he could just charge me the price of an item I was getting that was identical and I was told no again. Looking thru the reviews…I can see I am not the only one. So, that basically teaches ppl to go in there and put a price tag on the item they want….which would you rather have someone pay for an item that is identical to another or someone just putting a random tag on an item A lot of stuff I picked up had no tags on it. A friend wanted to buy at set of pajamas the top and bottom that went together and they made her buy both separately. Moral of the story, either don’t shop there or don’t fall in love with an item with no tags or do yourself a favor and pull a damn tag and place it on the item. I was trying to be honest, and they would not even go look where I got it from or anything. Also do not donate to this organization. It’s a thrift store not a gold mine, not sure how much they think they will get for it but they have plenty of expensive stuff there for the condition the store is in, you’d think a tornado went through it. Also, the manager is not anymore helpful. Sorry but the manager can’t come up with a price?! It has to be “production” I’d think the manager could make that decision. I’d say they need to change their rules because you are going to go out of business if you continue to use this practice. I offered solutions and they offered NOTHING! Goodwill will actually give you a price, not here. This is definitely not the place to thrift. They price gouge items, it’s ridiculous, again it’s a thrift store; Not Borsheims! You should really do an overhaul of your entire store because several items I looked at didn’t have tags. I assumed that meant the item was $1.99 because that’s how Goodwill does it if a price tag is missing or the find something comparable and charge that amount. The items were identical….if someone wants to contact me and make this right, I am happy to listen. But, to treat me like I took a tag off is not how you run a business, not everyone is a thief. Additionally, these items you have are donated to you for free!!! FREE! But you are going to worry about one identical item that did not have a price tag on it instead of possibly even making more money on it than it’s worth and in turn making a customer happy! I think your business sense is a bit off. I’d pay close attention to all the low reviews and how trashed your store is…it’s hard to really even look at everything because it’s so cluttered with stuff on the ground etc. I’d say it’s time to do a little housekeeping and not just to...
Read moreVisited this location on 12/30/2024 found a decent kitchenette table and four chairs price tag on it was marked 34 99. Seemed like a reasonable purchase. After pulling the price tag to present to the cashier. I was immediately confronted with the following statement what is it? When i explained it was the table and four chairs. I was told and i quote.(how am i suppose to confirm that and was told they would have to verify it!) Needless to say i was shocked to think anyone would be out to price tag swap prices for any items. After verification with a second employee i was asked was i taking it then. I explained i would need some time to arrange picking it up. At which point i was told it would have to be picked up within 24 hours. This didnt seem unreasonable. however i decided if this is the rude treatment afforded a customer i would let it pass and not make the purchase. Explained to the gentleman never mind i will let this go. And preceeded to leave at which point the cashier proceeds to scream across the floor as im leaving its 48 hours. I said nevermind and left. Returned home and immediately ordered a brand new set similar to it from amazon. Will be delivered January 2 2025. I would gave no stars if possible. Maybe Thrift World should consider a better value of customer service than accusing their customers of price tag swapping. Or their customer service representatives being more informed of there policies instead of just what ever they seem to think fits...
Read moreI totally quit shopping the 84th street store in Omaha, when they refused to provide any type of equipment for those of us that have difficulty getting around, I.E. a wheelchair or electric cart. And I am not the only one. And even though the Council Bluffs location does have an electric cart, it is in very poor shape. And after they rearranged the racks and shelves, some aisles are completely inaccessible. And they started using tubs to put like items in, such as small kitchen utensils, etc. But they are so heavy some of us can’t lift them to see what is inside!! And with only two handicapped parking spaces, you would think they would make the employees leave them for the customers!! I don’t understand how you can go to work all day, ON YOUR FEET, but not be able to walk more than 5’ to the front door. In other words, this chain of stores is very unfriendly and/or discriminatory towards...
