I've been coming here for nearly a decade, and their new manager is a whole jerk. (I have much less PG things to say about him, but this is a review). This place has always been kind, compassionate, clean, served great food, and always had the best waitresses around. I came up short a few dollars and my husband hadn't touched his plate yet because we realized we were short. So, we asked the manager if we could take it off the bill and have the food tossed. He said, and I quote, "We don't give away free food." This was after spending the entire time we were there glaring and giving dirty looks to us because I had my service dog along with constantly hounding us to "follow the rules" for having a service dog. Like, yelling at us if my almost 50lb, 9yr old dog wasn't stuffed completely under the table. Being mad we dare asked for an empty bowl so we could feed her really quick to which he felt the need to remind me, "they don't have to feed the dog, just give water." Which, if you read why I wanted the bowl, it was so I could dump a can of her food in it. Also, the staff, being as familiar as they are with me, knew I would rinse the bowl if she didn't lick it clean. So, yeah, there's a reason no one is ever in the parking lot anymore, even on FREE pie Wednesday. Ya know, that day when they give away FREE pie? They, "don't give away free food," though, remember. (Even if no one has touched it and it's a minor inconvenience to go...
Read moreI ordered the dinner size chicken fried steak and a side salad. The lady didn't even write it down, she just went back and put it in the computer. Thought that was weird and strange, but ok. I got my side salad, then she bought out the pounded steak, and I was nice and told her I didn't order that. She took it back and apologized, then bought me chicken fried steak and 2 helpings of potatoes. Well, that was good, could have done without the extra potatoes, but it was good. Then she did the same thing to the table in front of me, bought them the wrong pancakes. That's when I figured out that she should seriously be writting down the orders. Then on top of that, she didn't charge me for what I had, she charged me for the pounded steak, but she didn't charge me for the side salad. So, that is why I leave only 3 stars. The food was good, but service needs some training. Also, the other waitress on her phone in dining room, I can hear her talking on it, which I am not one to be ugly, but be on the phone in the kitchen, not out in the dining room. I don't eat here often, as I am from out of town, but man, I think I will go to the other village in next time. Service does need some work. I would have thought at least to write down the order in the first place. That should have been the first sign something was not spot on. Thanks for not charging me for the whole meal and like I said food was great, just need to...
Read moreFirst time eating here today, walking in it kind of reminded me of a Perkins. We were seated by one of the employees at the front of the house.
Our server Alina was super sweet, and did an excellent job taking care of us and handling our order, and I was not disappointed when she recommended the strawberry crepes.
She had our drinks out to us very quickly, the coffee was fresh and hot, she even took care to make sure she knew what flavor creamers to bring to the table.
I ordered the strawberry crepes, and my other half got the eggs benedict, and added cheese.
The food tasted excellent, I will suggest however that if your food comes with any sauces, sweet or savory, to request your sides on a separate dish. I had strawberry sauce all over my bacon and potatoes, which was a bit off putting, but Alina was very quick to correct the issue, which I was very appreciative of.
Overall, It's a nice little place to grab breakfast. It is a bit expensive for what you get, but everywhere is getting more expensive.
I would eat here again just because of the crepes. Plus, I would love to try their banana cream pie...
