Beautiful historic theater that has been maintained lovely. Start out on the Main Street Town Square and stand on the corner and soak up the beautiful brick theater with all the wonderful lights of The Palace Theater. Step up to the box office ticket window that is nestled in between the sets of the grand doors just waiting for you to open them and step back into time. Multi-level carpeted stairways leading up to the balcony where you can watch the shows & talented persons and have a great view from every seat in the house. It doesn't matter where you sit, be it on the main floor or the beautiful balcony you are mesmerised and drawn into the various talented acts/artists and it feels like a very intimate setting. In the main lobby there is a small gathering of tables & chairs to sit while you wait with anticipation for the doors leading into the theater to swing open to start seating guests you might want to visit the concession booth and grab a box of delicious buttered popcorn, a sweet candy treat & a coke. (Very reasonably priced). Just a short walk down the wide hall you will find restrooms that are handicap accessible. Everyone that works for, or volunteers at The Palace Theater are super friendly and eager to help you if needed. They were extremely professional & did their job well. When the performance is over and you exit the building back onto Main Street you might see people taking pictures of the theater lit up or see others visiting with each other and chatting about the show that you saw. One thing to note is that there is not a large parking lot. There is parking on both sides of the streets and around the block in various spots so you will want to allow yourself a few extra minutes to get parked and to walk over to the theater. The Palace hosts a variety of acts from famous well known singers & comedians to variety shows & local talent doing a bit of anything & everything in between. There are times when they will even show on the big screen a favorite movie for your family to come & enjoy and some of the local schools theater class programs perform on stage for the community. I would highly recommend coming to visit The Palace Theater if you are visiting (or if you are local) our beautiful town of Crossville TN. I'm pretty sure you will be...
Read moreWe just attended our second show, at the Palace Theater. We saw the James Taylor tribute artist awhile back and really enjoyed it. Last Thursday, we saw the Queen tribute band, Kings of Queen, and , again, thoroughly enjoyed the show, except for one thing. When the lead singer moved to the front of the stage, he was in total darkness. We were in the front row, of the balcony, which is obstructed with the railing, when the singer moves to the front of the stage. I counted 14 spot lights in the theater, 7 on both sides. There's no reason for anyone, on the stage t be in darkness. The keyboard player was in the dark, the lead guitar player was , somewhat, in the dark. The drummer was well lit. The area, immediately, in front of the drummer was well lit. But, the singer spent most of the show, up front. From our seats, we could only see half of him, and he was a shadow. You may want to get a spotlight or two aimed at the very front of the...
