I was very excited to see that the menu had a turkey club on it which I was craving. The menu said it was Turkey bacon lettuce and tomato and cheddar cheese. I asked if I could have any other kind of cheese and they said Swiss so I thought fabulous As I love Swiss cheese. Now a club sandwich is supposed to be three pieces of toast between two pieces of bread there should be the turkey the cheese and the bacon and then between the top two pieces of bread there should be the lettuce tomato and mayo or something along those lines depending on the restaurant. I got two pieces of bread not toasted with turkey ham tomato and very undercooked soggy bacon. The bread was not toasted and like I said there were only two pieces and for some reason they put Ham on my turkey club which wasn't even listed in the menu. So needless to say I am still craving a turkey club and though the ingredients tasted fresh oh and by the way I asked for no lettuce so that is why there was no lettuce on my sandwich. So I was pretty disappointed as I did not get anything that I expected to get. Also I asked the girl at the register if the tuna salad was made with light tuna or white tuna and she said she didn't know so she would have to ask and the answer that the cook gave her as I heard and what she shared with me was it's starkist. Starkist has white tuna and light tuna so I peeked into the kitchen and I could see the big cans on the shelf and it was light tuna which is why I did go with the turkey club. That is a very basic question and I was disappointed that I couldn't get an answer and I had to investigate myself. I did not try the soup and like I said the ingredients that I did receive were fresh, however the bacon should have been crispy and cooked it basically looked Raw. I do not think I will be returning to...
Read moreCan't tell you how glad I am that we drove through Crossville on the way home after Christmas. Also glad that two other restaurants on Main St were closed, because that allowed us to notice the Open sign outside this delightful gem Express Lunch.
Rushed in just minutes before closing, but the nice lady working the counter was happy to make us anything we needed to go as we continued our journey home.
For our picky 7 year old we got the Ham and Cheddar sandwich - a hit.
I got the Chicken Salad sandwich and it was excellent.
My wife ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap and while she wouldn't trade me half for half of my sandwich, she let me have a bit and it was out of this world. As much as I liked the chicken salad, I was disappointed she wouldn't share with me. So next time I'm in Crossville, I'm definitely getting the wrap!
They had fresh baked cookies at the counter, so I picked up some of those as well. According to my (again, picky) 7 year old, it was the best cookie he's ever had. My wife and I agree.
I love small businesses like this and will choose them over chains any day. Stop in for lunch - you won't be...
Read moreI was touched by the kind patient man working the counter today. He didn't really do anything just so patient with me. He didn't know what was going on in my life but my night had been a wreck and my morning just as bad. I couldn't think straight and all I knew is i wanted food. I'd never been here b4 and didnt know what they had or what to expect. I Stumbled over my choices, Asked a lot of questions, and just plain out took too long in my opinion but he answered them all and helped me figure out what I wanted. The watermelon bowls are so fresh i might as well ate straight from the melon, and the chicken noodle soup...I expect cheap canned something like some restaurants...not the delicious homemade, heart warming bowl i had. It was like my mother made it. I ate it in my car in the parking lot and about went in to get a second bowl to just take home but I needed to finish errands instead. Thank you for your patient and I would highly recommend this place. The food is heart...
