Pit Stop Pizza — Restaurant in Crossville

Note: Review is for pizza only, No appetizers

Stopped in to Pit Stop Pizza earlier today for a taste of something new (To me). As usual, I ordered a large, pepperoni and extra cheese pizza.

The pizza was delivered to the table, hot out of the oven.

First view: The pizza was cooked to perfection, with a golden brown appearance, light cook to the cheese and the crust was slightly basted in a light, garlic butter, with scattered minced garlic clove.

First bite: No cheese pull, upon picking up the first slice, but the cheese was quite thick.

There was quite a bit of slice "Flop" toward the middle of the pizza; partially due to a thinning of the crust, which is normal for hand tossed pizza.

The sauce was unique in its flavor, as it was a little "Heavier" in tomato and garlic, which was just enough to really wake up the taste buds.

Upon speaking with management (Which was very friendly and engaging), it was stated 'this business has been under "New" ownership and management for the past approximately 1.5 years'.

That being said; any reviews older than 1.5 years should be taken lightly, as they are trying to rebuild a previously destroyed relationship with public.

Unfortunately, Google only allows for a 1-5 star scale.

I would rate Pit Stop Pizza a very solid 4.7 based off of my first experience; however as everyone knows, I always adjust/revise reviews based a 2:3 average experience.

This restaurant would’ve gotten five stars based on the food. I was very pleased with the two topping pizza and the Greek salad that I ordered. I had it delivered via DoorDash to a local hotel. I called the restaurant and ask the person answering the phone to please supply a plate, silverware, salt, pepper, Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, and napkins. When the DoorDash Driver arrived, there was only a fork and two napkins. I was very disappointed in this. I like to give independent restaurants good reviews when they have a good product. But, because of a phone answerer , and her lack of follow through, my meal became disappointing....

The breakfast was well worth the price. The pizza was about the size of a dinner plate 10in. The gravy on the base was just the right thickness. Enough for a wonderfull taste but not so much as to make the crust soggy. I also got the breakfast rolls. To me they were the best. The crust was a crossover between a pizza crust and a croissant taste. Then they gave me gravy on the side. Which was awesome because I like to dunk the roll and decided the amount of gravy on each bite. Please do yourself a favor. Try out thier new breakfast menu.
