Mayfair Carpet and Furniture — Attraction in Crystal Lake

Let me start out by saying one of the worst experiences I have endured! It all started with the install. Manny, the job foreman, was extremely rude, pushy, and unprofessional. My walls were just professionally painted days before the install. The crew scuffed several of the walls and put a hole in one wall on the first day. They were also sawing in the middle of our living room, this is not a new construction home either we currently live in it! Our home was covered in saw dust. When I called to notify management they said they would patch and paint the wall. I told them I didn’t want them to repair the walls as my painter said he would. Manny showed up the next day and began to pull out supplies to patch and paint the walls. Fist of all I told them not to repair the walls and secondly he had the wrong color paint. I told Manny not to repair the walls. He was very pushy and was insisting he repair the walls. I had to tell him several times not repair the walls be he still insisted. I finally had to have my Dad tell him no. He even told me because of you I won’t get paid. I called the store again to complain about Manny’s behavior. They sent out Kelly to look at the damage. Kelly said that this damage was nothing and that it is normal for damage to occur to the walls during the install. I couldn’t believe what she was telling me. She went on to say that I should not have had the walls painted! They agreed to refund me some of the money I paid. Now they are not returning my calls. I guess I will have to go to the store to try and collect the refund. A side note: The floors look great. They did do an excellent job installing them. The way they managed a rouge job supervisor and damage was absurd and appalling. Buyer beware!! Save yourself...

We purchased new carpet from Mayfair on 9/25/23, and we absolutely love it. Dean is extremely knowledgeable and guided my husband and I to the perfect type of carpet for high traffic areas. We were expecting the carpet to take 3-4 weeks to be installed, but within 2.5 weeks they called to schedule installation. The installers were fantastic! They were very careful with moving our furniture and were respectful of our furniture. Once they began putting the new carpet down they took their shoes off, which I thought was extremely respectful. My only recommendation would be for them to call to let people know if the installers are running behind. Our install window was between 1-3 and the installers showed up at 3:45. While I completely understand things happen, a little heads up would have been appreciated. That being said, that slight hiccup doesn't take away from the fact that everyone with Mayfair was fantastic to work with. They outsource their installation work to the most rude, mocking, unprofessional crews I've ever seen. Not only that, but they're thieves!!! If you take any chances letting these people into your home, DO NOT take your eyes off them, otherwise you never know what might suddenly go missing...

1. Your employees also ate candy sitting on the window sill and left the wrappers, so that points to how much they care about respecting other people's personal belongings.
2. Your department head intentionally LIED TO and DECEIVED my mom when she went in to discuss additional issues with your work. I will say that after being confronted, the department head owned up to his lies and credited us the amount for the STOLEN controller. However, it seems to me that taking responsibility and owning up to missteps is apparently not something this company...
