Wings Etc. — Restaurant in Crystal Lake

Wings Etc. use to be my all time favorite wing spot. I have dined in countless times over the last 13 years. Tonight, I was craving wings so i ordered take out. When i got home, i was reminded why i stopped dining in and why i haven’t ordered takeout from here in literally over 5 years. I ordered a 20 piece family wing deal. 1/2 boneless, 1/2 bone-in. Got to pick 4 wing sauces (ordered 2 garlicky-parm, 1 mild buffalo, 1 tweener), 1 blue cheese, 1 ranch. This deal came with 2 sides of fries- i chose curly for both. This is advertised as coming with the sauce on the side because it’s suppose to be for multiple people.

I was missing one of the garlicky Parm’s. The bone in wings seemed overcook. I ordered a “mix” of drums and flats for the bone-in portion, but I received 9 drums and 1 flat (disappointing since i prefer flats but like both) Boneless wings were fine. Fries were okay- seemed old, even though I arrived 5min before the time noted on the order (it’s take out- i understand fries won’t always be the best).

The bartender that helped me was super nice. She’s been there a while and always was my favorite server there. This experience was disappointing though. Between missing a sauce, receiving 90% drums, and the wings tasting overcooked, I won’t order take out here again and likely not even get wings if I (reluctantly)...

Bad experience today.. I love this place and their food. I go here exclusively for wings. We were just here for a quick lunch (My 2 yr old son, Wife and I) and the waitress was extremely rude. Its almost like she was annoyed that we were there. There was a table with some teens at it, she must've known them, because they were all laughing together while she was at their table. She came over to us without a single greeting.. I'm the one who asked HER how she was doing today. She then rudely asked what we wanted to drink, my wife and I told her what we wanted and immediately she walked away without asking what my son wanted. Then brought the drinks back and said "you ready yet?" I said "well not really, but can my son have an apple juice?" Then she said "yep" and stormed away again just to come back and place the apple juice on the table and immediately walk away. I'm not sure what we did to this girl (who, mind you, we had serve us last time and she was great and I always tip great service WELL). Maybe she was having a bad day? Who knows. But instead of asking for a manager or complaining. We just left. Terrible experience today. And unfortunately it got you this rant and a 2 star review.. We were there at 3 pm 11/1/21. Probably won't be back for a while, if at all. They may lose this loyal and frequent customer. Very...

I've been coming here for about 8 years and it was always my favorite wing place. I'd pick Wings, Etc over BWW every time. However, I've noticed the quality going downhill lately; mostly less and less sauce over time. In the last two months, we've experienced undercooked wings (raw at the bone) and now tonight I had barely enough sauce to flavor the wings, watered down ranch dressing (tasted like ranch water) and very dirty celery. The "manager" here is walking around with his hands in his pockets, checking in with his buddies at another table regularly but not stopping by any other tables to ask how the service or food was. He has also walked by eaten wings left on the floor by the bar about 5 times now. Our watress greeted us with a less than enthusiastic "What's up?"

I'm extremely disappointed. I was concerned BWW opening down the road was going to be the end of Wings, but Wings held on valiently until recently. Now they seem like they are desperately cutting costs and the pricing no longer reflects...
