Checked in around 7:45 pm on Saturday evening 8/26/23 after a long day. The hallway smelled like Vape or cigarettes. Get into the room which seems okay until I got ready for bed. Turned down the covers and saw there was mold on the material covering the base. Went to the front desk and got the clerk. She moved me to the handicap room (I needed a 1st floor room due to bad back). Walked in and bug was crawling across the bathroom floor. She had a guy come in and look at it and said "It's just a beetle. We get them all the time. They don't bite". Okay.....This room seemed okay until I went to go to sleep. There is approximately a 1 inch gap under the main door so I heard everything going on in the hallway, and front lobby as the room was the first one off the lobby. At 12:38 am I had to get out of bed to go ask the front desk guy to please turn down Southpark that he had playing on the lobby TV as it was a straight line to my door and I could hear it like it was in the my room. Got up at the morning and left the room at 8:30 am to find their "breakfast" consisted of 2 types of cereal, juice and coffee. Not what I consider a complimentary breakfast. Went to check out with the 3rd new person at the desk who had no mention of compensation for the moldy room. Was told they would relay the information to management. It is the end of the day on Monday and I have received no communication from them. I will make sure to pay the extra $50 to stay at a different...
Read more2 stars because it definitely could be worse. There's a pet fee that their official website doesn't mention ($20 / night), which is fun to learn about at 2 in the morning after driving 9 hours. There's not really a "pet area" outside but there's some seemingly unclaimed grass area nearby and some decent enough sidewalks for a little bit of a walk. The beds seem OK, we were in non-smoking and it didn't smell like smoke. One of the outlets had very loose connections and may be a fire hazard to boot. There's no outlet by the beds unless you unplug the lights or the alarm clock. The walls look dirty but again, no smoke smell. The hallway carpet is lumpy and looks like it's been there since before the building itself. None of the staff, cleaning or otherwise, seemed to be happy they were there. The location is great though. No bedbugs that I could find. My dog didn't like it much more than I did. I never saw the breakfast because it closes at 9. The room had blackout curtains which is nice. I didn't do a lot on the wifi but it seemed better than other hotels I've been at (maybe not many people staying there at the time?) It was $440 for 4 nights with the surprise pet fee. I stayed in a trailer for college that was $300 a month and was nicer in almost every way than here. I've stayed at Super 8s before and don't think they ever left a negative impression on me...
Read moreI did stay for 2 nights in this hotel. But it is a tale of two different stories with 2 rooms. The original room I was booked in was 128 and it was horrific as the pictures will show. The air conditioner did not work well, it did blow rancid air. After checking in that room, I thought I would give it a little bit to cool off so I went to dollar tree to buy air freshener and lysol. I could not get back in the room due to key malfunction, and the air was not cool. Sia the clerk was extremely nice and respectful and switched rooms. Into a new updated room 113. This is where the stay gets much better. My family did meet me later and I felt we had a decent stay. On the second night there was some other guests loud and yelling in the halls the was addressed by management. I will confirm that back and side doors do not lock at night, but there are security cameras on them. Location is great for the MAC fields and food options are great and a few for...
