Posada La Hamaca. — Attraction in Culebra

Hi and good morning everyone! (note: I booked the reservation under one of my family members names). I will share our positive experience on this property and some other recommendations.

This is the list of things that I did like: Good customer service. 2. Clean property. 3. Location is close (walkable distance) to the ferry terminal, restaurants, a tiny grocery store and to a bakery. 4. The extra charge for a storage locker is worth it because the closet was big. 5. The back area of the property has tables next to the water canal along with an appropriate volume level of music (very relaxing atmosphere). 6. The management team always answered our phone calls without any delays. 7. Safe place to stay. Side note: I recommend you to bring insect repellent because it is completely normal on an island to deal with mosquitoes and also I will suggest keeping your room door closed.

This is the list of things that I did not like: The room for 4 people next to the reception desk which I believe is room #9, the windows and beds are located in a wall next to the sidewalks and a road so for people with a light sleep cycle could be an issue due to noises (earplugs are a good idea). 2. The whole room was well cleaned smelling good including the bathroom but they should replace the shower head because it was not clean. Everything else was perfect, we had a positive experience and if I had to stay again in the future, I wouldn't hesitate to do so!

I had an incredibly frustrating experience with this place. When I initially booked, I was told I would receive a confirmation email, but I never did. After multiple attempts to get in touch, I finally reached someone who claimed I had never booked. I had made two separate reservations—one for myself and one for my brother—but neither was confirmed. Assuming the booking hadn't gone through, I ended up reserving elsewhere. On the day of arrival, I received a text message as if I had checked in, even though I was told earlier that my booking never existed. When I called to clarify, I was rudely informed that I had never canceled. I explained that I never received confirmation and was told there was no booking in the first place. After going back and forth, the staff member rudely said, "Fine, I’ll cancel."

To make matters worse, my brother never received a refund for his booking and is now disputing it. The whole experience was chaotic, stressful, and entirely unnecessary. This place is unprofessional and disorganized. Save yourself the headache and book somewhere else. Terrible...

NO ONE WORKS HERE AND THEY DOUBLE BOOK ROOMS. We booked a room at La Posada. We arrived at 6:30pm and nobody was there to check us in. An hour and a half later after talking to hotel guests of la posada and the staff next door at Mamacita's we found out our room was double booked !!! The people staying in the room we booked, room 4, had booked on Booking . Com. We booked through the official website. At no point did anyone from the hotel get back to us. We still haven't gotten a text message, phone calls, nothing. We found all this out through drinking and complaining next door !! Thankfully the lovely people at Mamacita's were able to help us out and get us a room for the time we were staying there. This is the most insane thing to ever happen to me. And the Tiki bar was closed, no one working there. The people staying at la posada that we talked to said they never saw anyone working at the receptionist or the tiki bar next door.
