Incredible Breakfast and Even Better Hospitality at JJ’s Grill & Bar

We stopped into JJ’s Grill & Bar for breakfast, and it turned out to be one of the best choices of our trip. Our server, Jenny (apologies if I’m spelling that wrong!), has been on the island for over 20 years, and she made the entire experience unforgettable.

The breakfast itself was fantastic — hands down the best we’ve had. A special mention has to go to the “toast,” which isn’t just toast at all — it’s pure perfection. Imagine pillows of heaven topped with rich, creamy butter. Absolutely incredible.

But what really set this visit apart was Jenny. Her warmth, local knowledge, and kindness didn’t just make breakfast amazing — she also connected us with H2O Water Taxi, which set in motion one of the best days of our lives exploring Culebra.

Avoid ordering the ice coffee here at all costs. The coffee they serve is, without a doubt, one of the most disappointing experiences I've encountered. Not only do they provide you with diluted, filtered coffee, but they also charge a staggering $7, nearly $8, for it. To add insult to injury, they serve you only half a cup. The service is slow, and the lady's attitude is unfortunately quite arrogant. The portion sizes for dishes are small as well. Do NOT RECOMMEND Responding to the restaurant's comment; shame you for charing 6.50$ for a water down drip coffee with ice! I could have made 3 decent cold brews with the dollar you took off the initial price of my order. oh did I mention they added tap water? did not get me sick but...

Good food, pretty fast too despite the sign indicating not to eat there if you are in a hurry. The veggie scrambled eggs with toast were surprisingly good, as was the quesadilla. My three kids split one order of the gorilla pancakes and still didn't finish them, so that was a good value. The mini bocadilla was not bad, but a bit weird: ham and cheese between two waffles with strawberries, granola, and honey on top. The passion fruit frappe was very delightful.
