I had never been to an Ollie’s Before so at first I was interested in checking it out. I went with my brother and his fiancé. At first things seemed fine but one thing ruined my whole experience for me. Slowly but surely I realized I was being followed by the store security around the store. It’s demoralizing and annoying to have someone follow you and make you feel like you’re trying to steal. I was looking at the clothes and he kept following me so I decided to look straight at him for him to just act like he wasn’t looking at me or following me. After that he tried to play it off like he wasn’t following me but by that point he had ruined my experience there. I don’t want to make this a race thing but I am Mexican and I didn’t see him following anyone else, I don’t know what about me made him suspicious out of everybody else but it’s still a bit demoralizing. I knew I wasn’t there to steal anything so my conscious is at peace but this guy ruined my experience there. Definitely not going back. The security looks like Gus from Gravity Falls, you’ll know him once you see him. Instead of being concerned that I might steal something they should check the camera footage cuz he might be stealing and eating all the food...
Read moreJust spent an hour and a half shopping just for the cashier/manager to waste all my time. Paid $185 and the cashier forgot to scan the barcode to discount the Halloween items. So the manager comes over and says she had to do a refund and rering the items. She takes my receipt, she's taking forever so I ask what she's doing n she tells me she is refunding the ENTIRE receipt n I pay again. I told her refunds don't work like that, they're not instant. She proceeds doing the refund, telling me I'm wrong, she's done it before. I told her it's not going to work like that, she said we'll I've already done it, it'll work. So now she tells me I owe $160. Mind u, it was only 4 little Halloween items that could have been fixed. So now, because AMAZINGLY the credit didn't work instantly like I told her, my card is declined. So I got nothing! But Ollie's lost out on that sale n trust I won't be back because that entire process was stupidity at...
Read moreOkay I would give Ollie's of Culpeper four stars maybe even five on a weekday but I've been there three times on a Sunday and walked out twice. On a Sunday you can walk over to the candy rack and see an open bag of candy where one of the employees walks by and grabs candy every once in awhile. Today there was nobody at the checkout and it must have been seven or eight people waiting in line I walked over and laid my handful of stuff in front of an employee who is standing there with a hand cart and a empty pallet "here you can put this away" he just politely said "okay". Meanwhile one employee just followed another one around the store with aimless wandering. I will never ever ever go back to that...
