My wife and I have stayed in several very nice NYC hotels, and, for fairly self sufficient travelers (no 24-hour front desk), this place is at least their equal. When my wife and I walked into the Terra Suite, we couldn't believe it only cost $175. This boutique hotel is definitely one of the best deals I've encountered in a hotel. It's very modern, but retains some country small town elements. Our suite was huge with a gas fireplace, 5-shower head steam shower, and high end finishes all around. The upstairs suites have a wrought iron balcony with a small table and chairs. It was great on a fall evening. The bed is like a king size pillow, and there is a large LCD TV with Satellite. We wouldn't have missed the TV too much had it not been there.
Suites at 249 is located within a block of the train station, shops, and some surprisingly nice restaurants. I've always passed Culpeper by on my way to Charlottesville, but I plan to stop in a little more often, hopefully for a repeat stay at this great...
Read moreWhat an amazing weekend! My now wife and I stayed in the Verde Suite on the night that we got engaged! We live in Baltimore and needed a break from the City, so we worked our way down to Culpepper and visited a few wineries on the trip down. I had the day planned out (with ring in pocket) and was waiting for the right moment to pop the question. Unfortunately, it rained during our trip to the wineries, so there was not a clear chance to ask the question until I got back to the room. I was not disappointed when we got there - I had flowers, champagne, and chocolates delivered to the B&B a head of arrival; they were all setup when we arrived. There was also a nice little restaurant next door that we at dinner at afterwards. Perfect weekend - she said yes!
I was way past delinquent on this review. The staff, room, and service were unbelievable! I would recommend the B&B to...
Read moreThe location is fantastic for a weekend away! Check in was seemless with keyless contactless entry. The location is steps away from the train station and parking is right out front making arrival and departure extremely easy. Suites at 249 had an ice machine in the lobby, and our room came equipped with a Keurig and had a nice kcups selection. Our favorite touch was the Culpeper post card and stickers placed in the lobby for guests to grab. There are great coffee shops, boutiques, restaurants and breweries all within walking distance of the hotel.
The one recommendation I would have is that there isn’t a microwave. Our room had a min fridge but there was no microwave in the room nor on the floor to share with other guests. If I were the owners I would invest in at least a microwave that can be shared, but a small in room one would...
