Forest Green branch is located in North Dallas next to the sprawling Texas Instruments campus. It's about a 20 minute walk from the DART Forest Lane station and there's a bus stop a few steps from the front door.
The library building is kind of hard to notice from the street; in fact it actually stands out because of its drab, 70's governmental look. The parking lot is small but adequate, with additional spots available in the back. No rear entrance.
The front door is even darker than the rest of the exterior. The vestibule has a low 8' ceiling and is kind of dim and worn. The library proper certainly shows its age (1975) in wear and tear. There is really a pretty small collection of books and computers available for adults.
There are however two outstanding features to this library. First, the Children's section is absolutely bursting with books and color. Second, it has a calm, mellow atmosphere, helped with the addition of plenty of comfortable chairs...
Read moreSuch a lovely new facility! Free guest Wifi too. The only negative was being ejected from the deserted end of the library, and sent to the other end. Truth, my asthma was kicking my butt, so I went to the children/young adult section to cough without disturbing. Totally deserted. I was approached and told unless I was with a child I would have to go to the adult section. I would have understood if there were ANY kids ...but there were not. I explained to the young lady that I had painters at my house and my asthma was bad. She didn't care. Policy is policy. Blind obedience required. Definitely a government...

Did you know you can print out 50 pages per day and have almost 3 hours of access to high-speed internet? This location is so comfortable and serene, plus has a great.and helpful support crew to help.with any library need. Oh and I waived to the sewing club or class.on the way out the door. Love...
