Harry Stone Recreation Center — Attraction in Dallas

I used to go here everyday in the summers of 63-65 !!! I lived at 2511 Healey Dr went to Keist Elementary. Way back then🤣 they had Free swim from 9-10 am everyday! My brother, Steve Platts & I would go every morning, go back home have breakfast, do our chores & go back at ( I think ) noon. Sooo many wonderful memories there!!! The Rec gym inside I remember seeing my 1st Square Dancing event!! Seeing all the ladies pretty colorful skirts twirling..oh so fun! The pool looks the same, even with the little entrance bldg!! Tho bk then they had a High dive in the middle w a low dive on ea side !! I went back to the neighborhood for the 1st time in 2010… so many GREAT MEMORIES growing up in that...

Nice and clean park. Recreation center was recently remodeled. Neighborhood Watch Patrol regularly cruises by also Dallas Police sometimes park in the lot facing Millmar in the evenings. If walking your dog be sure to bring your pet waste disposal bags or you might find yourself being chastised by a neighborhood local. My dog was experiencing digestive issues and I ran out of bags on our walk. Uh oh. The park seems relatively safe and family friendly. The playground, off Matterhorn, is great. It’s simple, which means that there isn’t a lot of broken playground parts, with the good basics - slides, monkey bars, and swings. Also had a cute tiny racetrack where kids can spin wheels to “race” two little toy cars. I also liked it because there were people and families walking the path that loops around the park.
