Joy Foot massage — Attraction in Dallas

I have been here several times and the massage therapists are always professional and skilled. It is a wonderful treatment. UNFORTUNATELY, the girl running the reception is one of the rudest, most unprofessional people I’ve ever encountered as a customer. I was with a group of 5 women today. Unfortunately, there was an unexpected traffic issue and I realized I was going to be 20 minutes late for my appointment. I notified someone else in my party and asked her to notify her that I would be late. I explained that I fully understood if this was a problem and that I would be happy to pay for the treatment in full if they had to cancel. I arrived 22 minutes late. I apologized and explained that if it was too much trouble to go ahead with the appointment, I would just wait for the rest of my party to finish their treatments and that I would be happy to pay for mine. The receptionist proceeded to lecture me about being late and spoke to me as if I was a child. She insisted I go into the massage room as she continued to tell me how I was extremely irresponsible. I had my treatment ( very good treatment) and left the therapists a VERY GENEROUS Tip for his work. After the treatment, I found out that the receptionist was extremely rude to another woman in our party. The person whose birthday we were celebrating goes to this establishment frequently. She returned to the receptionist after we left and told her that she would like to speak to the manager or owner. The girl called someone, and spoke her language to the gentleman…..handed the phone to the member of our party…..and it became very apparent this was not the owner or manager. He was rather rude as well. We looked up who the owner really was and knew she had lied to us. As the member of our group left, the receptionist laughed out loud. We indeed will speak with the OWNER. I was hoping to get a treatment weekly …..UNFORTUNATELY, UNTIL THE MANAGEMENT RIDS THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THIS HORRIFIC EMPLOYEE……NONE OF US WILL...

Relaxing. I'm a return customer and this place has always hit the spot (literally). I'd come here for either an hour of de-stressing or to relax my muscles after intense work outs. Lisa is awesome - she has strong hands! If you're not familiar with independent reflexology setups, then here are a few things to know. Get the 1 hour reflexology+back massage option for $40. You will be taken into a low-lit common room with beds in rows of 3 (each row separated by a curtain). The private rooms are mostly for other massages (like full body). You are expected to remove your shirt (girls need not go completely topless but expect to have your bra unhooked (and rehooked) during the back massage!). Keep your pants on - shorts recommended. The first 30 mins will focus on your feet and legs. It's amazing how relaxing that itself can feel overall! The 2nd half hour will focus on your back to get rid of those knots. The masseuses are skilled and professional but take it with a slight grain of salt because they won't be exactly the same as those working in a chain setup (like Massage Envy). You may notice a slightly "homely" informal nuance which should not be misinterpreted for unprofessionalism. Ambient music plays in the background although there may be the occasional whispering or opening of a door in the back. If this sounds good, then you will come out feeling nice and loose! I called Joy Foot and asked if they accepted walk-in clients. The person who answered confirmed that they did and weren’t busy at the time. I confirmed what time they closed as well. About an hour later I arrived and the person at the front asked i had called earlier. I said “Yes.” She asked for my name and appointment time. I clarified that I was the one who called about walk-in appointments. She said at that time they weren’t busy, but were busy now. (Fair enough. I had called an hour prior so it made sense that availability had changed). I asked when they wouldn’t be busy and she said at 6pm, which was an hour away. I then asked if they were open tomorrow (Sunday) and she said yes and gave the times. I wanted to go ahead and schedule an appointment but she then handed me a business card and told me to call to make an appointment. Then she got up and walked to the back!

I found this to be incredibly rude. I’m sorry if I asked too many questions about making an appointment. However, there is no other way to find out this information. Why wasn’t she able to make an appointment for me right then and there? Why do I need to call? And if she was that busy, why was she already sitting in the front when I arrived?

I don’t normally complain but this seemed very unprofessional. Our interaction lasted 2 minutes and left a lasting impression. This location will not be receiving...
