I ordered I grilled salmon with a house salad on Grubhub app. It was a little to expensive for salmon that small, for $16, and I’m talking about the dinner portion. I was disappointed to see that there was no sauce that came with it. So you’d have to spend $3 to have sauce. I had opened up the house salad and by looking at it, it was not the kind of house salad I’d expected...i thought a house salad is simple lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and red onions. Instead, it was spinach, arugula, some kind of other lettuce, dried cranberry, almonds, green apple slices and bacon. I could have asked for another one, but I was at lunch. I do not eat bacon, therefore, I took the bacon off. I really couldn’t enjoy it because they had put so much bacon and cranberries on it, I don’t like those either. Grubhub did not have a description of what was in the salad. The ranch dressing was not authentic, it seemed like Kraft Ranch dressing quality and I had to use THAT for some of the salmon since I didn’t have sauce to go with it 😑. I had the asparagus and lime cilantro rice (which I could have replaced rice with broccoli because I didn’t realize it came with a starch). I just need to check out the actual menu next time, instead of relying on GH. Overall, the meal was okay. I was hungry and wanted something healthy to eat. Next time, I’ll see exactly what they have on the menu. The food is a little overpriced, but hey, what gourmet restaurant...

Met up with my husband today for lunch and it wasn't our best experience. We have dined here once before for dinner and our experience was totally different..better. The restaurant is currently under construction, which didn't bother me, but it was the service that did. My husband and I are easy customers. We don't complain and we take what we get. Today, my husband ordered the shrimp tacos as a lunch special and there was a long strand of hair wrapped up in the green onions and dressing. We weren't going to say anything, but when I saw how long the strand of hair really was, I could not NOT say something. The gentlemen who came to ask how we were doing, not our waiter, brought my husband another taco out quickly after we showed him the strand of hair. I at least expected a manager or someone to come apologize or offer for the tacos to be on the house, but no. And we weren't going to ask. Maybe I'm wrong to expect that, but that was a long piece of hair! I ordered the Shrimp and Crab Louis Salad. Tasty, but way too much iceberg lettuce and not enough salad dressing (marmalade). Our waiter never came by after refilling my iced tea only once so I couldn't ask for more dressing. I later saw our waiter bartending at the bar and he didn't come by our table again until we were ready for our check. My husband and I more likely will not be visiting this...

The seafood is really good with a decent selection- everything from a simple grilled salmon to a deep-fried mahi fillet smothered in a cajun sauce... which, you know, not a great decision for mahi-mahi, but hey, at least they give you the option. There's also boiled baskets, with a choice of seasonings, as well as fresh options. I tried the peel-and-eat shrimp with a "all-in" cajun butter sauce which was rich, flavorful, and a little bit spicy. I also had the tilapa "Oscar" which was a fillet, fried in a parmesan coating and then smothered in a herb bechamel. Both were cooked near perfection. The peel-and-eats came out of their shell easily and were tender, and the tilapia was moist, but flaky. The price was right on. Obviously, it's seafood, so it was going to be a bit of an expensive lunch either way, but the bill certainly wasn't exorbitant. The wait staff was extremely nice. I was meeting a friend for lunch, and the hostess at the door took note when my friend arrived, mentioned my name, and brought him right over. That really impressed me. Overall, it's an excellent option if you're hankering for some good seafood in South Plano or...

What happened?? They Used to be so good. It saddens me to have to now leave such a bad review. The Good: There blackened salmon, carrots, lime rice and vinegar cider are still great but could also be bought at other great seafood establishments. The BAD: The Mexican Seafood Coctail (which is what always brought me in) is ridiculously priced at $12.95 (for an appatizer). It does have more shrimp but the salsa is PATHETIC!! he onions, tomatoes and peppers are diced so fine, I swear they are just using garnish veggies to save the restaurant money, but even then there are BARELY any in there. If you just want shrimp and chips, thats what you get. JASMINE was the sweetest server ever. Checkd on me enough but not over excessively. Great upbeat attitude and listened to me gripe about the Mexican Cocktail with a smile on her face and still trying to encourage me to return when I advised her I will no longer be returning to Rock Fish.

Today we could not resist going back to Rockfish Grill. We did ask for Emily and it was such a delight. She is just as efficient as we noted last week in the review below. Emily made our dining experience fun and enjoyable. Thank You Rockfish Grill for having folks like Emily taking such good care of us. We definitely will come back and ask for Emily again. Donna and I enjoy his Grill. We love seafood. What made our visit Special was Emily T.! She is so efficient; she almost anticipates what you want, refills, anything before you even say it. She is friendly and makes you feel at home. We will ask for Emily the next time. Rockfish Grill is fortunate to have Emily as your Good Will Ambassador! Some Staff are efficient, but to make your guests feel welcome is a great Thing. Emily makes you feel like a good friend!

This wasn't my first time at Rockfish, however, it was my first time at this location. I mentioned that to the hostess, and she said they were the friendliest. I think she was right. Because she came out to our car to greet us and make sure we got the proper seating for our mom who was in a wheelchair. Our waitress was sweet and very accommodating. The chef came out to explain something about my order....everything was good once I got my seasoning situation taken care of...lol...they took care of me! Now I know to get the garlic butter with a side of the nitro and mix according to my liking. We ordered the seafood boil special and my mom had blackened Catfish, red beans and rice with fried okra. Everything was very good. See you soon Richardson Riockfish and thanks for the May and June seafood specials.
