I’m going to give this community pool a 3 star, don’t get me wrong the place is nice, extremely clean very well kept (I mean for as long it’s been open) considering the fact that it is on the edge of pleasant grove. First impression is everything to me of course, but as soon as you go to pay the register girl (teenage girl) is rude off the bat. ( they for sure Enforce swim suit dress code) DO NOT come in anything other than swim suit dress code because they will NOT I repeat, they will NOT let you in. It’s understandable that you can not run in a pool area, they blow the whistle for that, my son was in the lazy river and got on the ledge to get over to the other side, they blew the whistle for that. My nephew was taking crickets out of the pool and throwing them outside of the pool the lifeguard yelled at him “DONT DO THAT” like if it was against the guidelines. They have a million lifeguards just watching over you like hawks ready to blow their whistle. I’m all for safety and following rules but it’s summertime, come on, be more friendly. These teenagers are rude, if you’re working with kids have compassion. These lifeguards need training on how to talk to kids. Overall, I can only complain about the lifeguards not about the place. It’s excellent in...
Read moreThis is the worse water park I’ve encountered this 2023 summer with my children. They’re in an underprivileged neighborhood with a dress code for children who barely have clothes to wear. It’s almost like they want to keep them out! Not only that they’ll allow them to come in but they can’t get into the water yet still have to pay the full price. It’s a slap in the face to the community and very sad that they’ll treat children this way. I live in Irving and fortunately my children has had the privilege to go to multiple water parks and not once have they been questioned about the way they’re dressed. It’s always neighborhoods like this that have these kind of rules. It’s a mechanism they use to keep the kids who are less fortunate out. And for whom is wondering, I brought some of my family members here that lives in the area, for a little fun and they were denied entry due to the kind of shorts they had on. So sad and hurtful! But this is normal in the world we live in...
Read moreMy family has been going to Dallas city pools (Samuell Grand before it was The Cove, then The Cove, Crawford, and the Pleasant Grove Indoor Pool. In almost ten years we have only ever had one incident and management addressed it directly.
I understand that their swimwear restrictions have tightened over the years-but I believe this has to do with the materials absorbing more water than swimsuit material-making those clothing items heavier and easier for someone to struggle in the water, as well as contaminating the pool with anything they've absorbed, and fiber breakdown clogging filter systems. The dyes can also bleed into the pool and change the water chemistry.
We love the Dallas city pools and will continue to patronize them for as long as...
