St. Ambrose University — Attraction in Davenport

My low rating pertains to mainly the doctorate of physical therapy program. I felt as an undergrad that I was groomed for acceptance to the DPT program but was denied every time I applied, even though I followed all of their instructions. I majored in exercise science and had no other options for a career once I graduated with my undergrad. They did not look out for me or care what happened to me once I graduated. This is not a one time occurrence. Someone close to me was also completely screwed over by Ambrose's DPT program. He had to transfer schools mid-program due to Ambrose's misguided and unfair program. They told him false-promises that resulted in a worse situation for him. He followed all instructions from director, Mike Puthoff, to be able to stay but was thrown out and abandoned without remorse. Overall, Mike Puthoff is a two-faced, unfair, and mediocre program director with DPT passing rates plummeting ever since he took over. He has poor management over instructors in his program and has yet to prove any care towards the students he teaches. While I did have a decent experience at St. Ambrose, I can never forgive the "university" for completely discarding the Spring Class of 2020. On the day of our commencement, they aired a 12 minute marketing video and did not even read the names of any gradates virtually. Since then, they have promised the Class of 2020 that they would hold a special event and that has never happened nor do I think will happen. They did not even refund commencement fees. Now I hear, they are kicking the music department out of a building that the MUSIC DEPARTMENT RENNOVATED THEMSELVES because the university failed to provided adequate rehearsal space for the growing program. Even worse, they want to use Leclaire Hall for office space even though there are dozens of open office spaces throughout the university. They have no regard for the arts nor for the Class of 2020. They will never get a donation out of me EVER. The way this university handled the pandemic in unacceptable and soiled for 4 years of a pretty decent...

My experience at St. Ambrose University is awesome! It’s one of the best Universities here in IOWA. I am an International student at St. Ambrose and there are many international students here also.
