UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden — Attraction in Davis

Spent so long trying to figure out the parking. I didn't have time to even go in the arboretum like I planned. I called ahead of time, and downloaded the amp parking app. I was told if I had trouble once there just go to headquartersfor help. I went in there was told to park in any C lot. did that but that was for all day not hourly as I needed. So then I called the parking department they told me the amp doesn't do hourly. . By then I was hungry, got something to eat and tried to renew or pay for parking and couldn't do it. So I left without even going in the arboretum. The parking sucks. It's not user friendly. The walking trail for the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden starts at the parking lot of the Davis Commons Shopping Center. It’s a great place to talk a walk before or after eating at one of the great restaurants at the Davis Commons Shopping Center. There is a paved trail that leads you along Putah Creek that runs through the UC Davis campus. You should be able to walk to the UC Davis Arboretum within a mile or so. It’s a peaceful place to walk, ride your bike or walk your dog. You will see plenty of wildlife and various plants/trees along your walk. My chief criticism is the cleanliness of the water (which I know everyone is working on) with the algae / cyanobacteria growth and polluted runoff.
