Long story short, I asked one of the students to check the area where I left it. After 3-4 minutes, the student said it’s not there.
My daughter checked that same area 20-minutes later and the cup is exactly where I left it. I had a feeling that the student did not actually check the specific area (next to the front door) where I left my cup.
