Dayton Masonic Center — Attraction in Dayton

Went to the 80s concert here last night. The venue is nice and most of the people there were nice as well. Most. However, after spending a hundred dollars on tickets and more than that on drinks we were told that once you have entered the building, you were not permitted to walk outside and come back in. As a smoker, this was not ok with the group I was with. There was nothing on the website or on the ticket purchasing information that stated this anywhere. We arrived early and the older man that was by the door let us know we weren't allowed to leave when we were trying to go outside prior to the concert opening. To be specific he say, "I can't tell you whether you will or will not be allowed back in, just know, if you aren't, you've been warned". It's unfortunate because most of the people that were there were very nice and welcoming, but that man and a few others left us with a horrible experience. We would not visit this place again for any concert or any other event. If you don't like feeling trapped inside a place you're paying to go to, I would suggest not...

I just came here for the first time recently at an awesome work party. When I say this place is beautiful it truly is!! This is an amazing place to hold an event for a large amount of people. There is an upstairs and a downstairs to it. The place was decorated beautifully. The food was so good! The staff that worked there to make the party at ease was very attentive! They were constantly picking up trash off tables and keeping everything neat and tidy. I will definitely keep this place in mind if I ever need to have an event! The building is nice to look at but the seating is ridiculously uncomfortable if you are on the larger side. I attended a concert performance of Les Miserables here that my brother was a part of some years ago. I actually had to get up and leave my seat during the second act because it was so uncomfortable and ended up with a huge bruise on my leg from the seating.
