I fully support small business so I rarely write about negative experiences. But this was one of the worst dining experiences I have had. My mother, two small children and I ordered a medium half cheese, half pepperoni to eat in. After about 20 minutes and seeing people behind us in line getting pies I walked up to ask about our order. I was assured it was coming, basically told to shut up and color. After another 10 minutes the lady that took our order walked over and apologized that she had accidentally given our pizza to some one else. So some one after us must've ordered a medium half-cheese, half-pepperoni as well (not a chance).
After being blatantly lied to and waiting 35 minutes for our pizza we finally had it delivered, Just without silverware or napkins. After asking we received 3 forks and 2 knives, no napkins. After getting up and asking for napkins we got three of them, for the four of us.
This place trades on a name and brand, but the downtown location doesn't care anymore. The Centerville location isn't bad, but I will never be back to the downtown location after...

We ordered a large with pepperoni on the entire thing, and black olives only on half. The toppings seemed severely undercooked. It was as though they had accidentally made it a cheese pizza, realized their mistake, and then put the toppings on two minutes before the pizza was done. The crust and the cheese were somehow cooked enough, but not the toppings. I don't even understand how that works.
Speaking of the crust, it is a little too chewy. They give you a knife and fork to eat with, but I gave up using that and just ate it normally. I felt like if I kept trying to use them, I'd just end up cutting straight through the paper plate they were on. The cheese was... fine.
Lastly, they are very stingy with the drinks. They have three sizes, and the large is jokingly labeled as the "bed wetter". Well, no need to worry about wetting the bed here, because the larger cup size just means they'll fill it with even more ice, and they have the nerve to charge $1.00 for refills on top of that.
I will not...
Read moreA Dayton tradition. Hand-tossed, REAL oven baked pizza. Not that cookie-cutter conveyor belt pizza like the chains...no, here you get the real deal. Popular place for lunch downtown, so it does get busy weekdays at lunchtime. I always get cheese or pepperoni, but you can get more toppings. Its downtown, so parking can be a little crazy BUT here's what you do...there is a parking garage attached to the building the Flying Pizza is located in. You can park there close to the restaurant and they will validate 30 minutes of parking, BUT YOU HAVE TO ASK THEM FOR THE TICKET. It is an automatic pay service machine, so you get you validation ticket from Flying Pizza and insert that AFTER you insert your garage ticket. It actually gives you about 40 minutes of time there.
So, to sum up: great pizza, friendly service, not the most convenient place if you're not a walk-in from downtown, but they do make an attempt to help you out by giving you 30 minutes of parking for free, but ASK FOR...
