I literally just got off the phone with the woman who books the venue, Ms. Ware, and I have never been more offended in my life. First, I'm helping my elderly uncle and future wife plan their wedding. They live in a retirement community close to this banquet hall. We went to view the banquet hall last Friday, on 31 March 2017. Ms. Ware asked my uncle and his fiancé which room would they prefer, and of course they picked the biggest room due to the fact that 100 to 150 people are set to attend their wedding. Under these terms, they gave the lady the deposit and thought they had booked a great venue for the wedding. But today, April 7, 2017, they just received a call from the woman who now wants an extra $200 to $300 for the venue. Since they are in their 60s and 70s, I decided to call the lady and get the details. As soon as I did contact her, she instantly comes at me defensively, yelling and screaming over the phone about how she can't lower the price, when in fact, all I needed to know was when could they get their deposit back. I have met her in person. She is in her 60s or 70s as well. But I had never been disrespected over the phone to this degree in my entire life. This was the most unprofessional, person I have ever dealt with. Although I remained respectful to her, she flipped out over the phone over something that was not as serious as she made it. We no longer wanted to use the venue. I wanted to make sure they could get their deposit back. She was literally yelling obscene comments to me about not being able to help if they could afford The venue, and how she would not drop the price. Again… I only wanted to know when we could pick up the deposit. I will never use this venue for any event I choose to hold in the future. This establishment lacks professional decorum on many levels. It reminds me of why black people really don't support black businesses. Not to mention, when I told her that I wasn't calling to ask her to lower the price, but to see when they could get the deposit back, she hung up on me. I will never suggest that anyone uses this venue. Although it is beautiful ( if you don't include the stained carpet throughout the building), The management isn't worth...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to attend the Old School Groove Night at Unity Banquet Center in Dayton, Ohio, and it was truly a unique and enjoyable experience. The event takes place every first and third Friday of the month, bringing together older adults for a night of dining, dancing, and socializing.
The atmosphere at Unity Banquet Center during Old School Groove Night is laid-back and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for those who prefer a more relaxed evening out. The older crowd adds a nostalgic charm to the event, and the friendly and inviting nature of the attendees creates a warm and inclusive vibe.
While the food at Unity Banquet Center was decent, it was the ambiance and camaraderie of the guests that truly made the evening memorable. The opportunity to enjoy good music, tasty food, and a lively dance floor in the company of older adults who know how to have a good time made for a delightful experience.
Overall, I would highly recommend Old School Groove Night at Unity Banquet Center to those looking for a fun and laid-back night out. However, if you are uncomfortable with being around an older crowd, this may not be the event for you. But for those who appreciate good music, good company, and a relaxed atmosphere, this event is definitely worth...
